...check out this video of a guy with a 45 year old box of Ore Ida Instant Flakes Mashed Idaho Potatoes. He cooked them and gave them a taste test and guess what, they didn't taste good.

Here's another video with the same guy where he opens cans of food from the mid 1960's that are now 55 years old, he opened the cans to see how gross the food looks inside. LOL, the white potatoes actually don't look too bad but I sure wouldn't eat them. The labels on the cans are cool looking because of nostalgia reasons.

Found another video, this time he prepares two boxes of gelatin, an old one and a new one, then compares the two for appearance and taste. Interesting. He says the old box of gelatin is from the 1950's, could be possible although the art work on the box looks more like the 1970's to me. Maybe the art work/design of the box stayed mostly the same from the 50's through the 70's.

I use YouTube, but wouldn't it be better tidying out the cupboard after all this time to throw everything in the trash..

Might be easier if he just threw the old stuff into the trash but if he did that he wouldn't have these interesting videos to put on You Tube.

OH Nuts!

Indeed, YT has all kinds of great stuff. Easily 85% of what I watch is on YT.

Other interesting videos to watch on You Tube are from these people who call themselves urban explorers, they travel to abandoned places and make videos of them. Abandoned places like stores, malls, resorts, amusement parks, places like that.

Several videos have been done at the abandoned Penn Hills Resort in the Pocono region of Pennsylvania. In it's heyday, Penn Hills Resort was well known for being a lovers retreat, a popular spot for honeymooning couples. During the 1990's and 2000's, Penn Hills was no longer as popular as it once was and the resort began having financial problems. It closed down in 2009 and was left abandoned, it didn't take long for vandals to take over and trash the place. Very sad what was allowed to happen there after the resort closed down but that's how it is. A once popular and thriving resort is now in shambles just waiting for wrecking crews to arrive and knock it all down. :(

There's a thread on closing or abandoned malls on this site somewhere.
