The post on the BBC4 drama Hattie, revealing the Carry On star Hattie Jacques troubled life reminded me of the following film, charting the romance between Carry On co-stars Sid James and Barbara Windsor, whilst also giving a feel of the Zeitgeist of those possibly for many more ingenuous times. https://youtu.be/fkA_N6YOaJk

Thanks for the link.
I like Sid James, have seen most of the Carry On films, and I've enjoyed seeing him in non-Carry On films, my favorites of those being: No Place Like Homicide!, What A Whopper, Weekend With Lulu, and Double Bunk.
And of course his last sitcom Bless This House.

I wasn't sure how people would react to the link so I'm glad somebody liked it. Looking back the Carry Ons were a product of their time, belonging to an era where going to the cinema to watch a film in colour was a regular weekend activity, and of course none of this angst which prevails in society today. Some might say they were b***** awful and should never have been made.
I also liked Sid in Bless This House with co-star Diana Coupland, the series again viewed from today being a nostalgic look back on how things used to be.
