waiting to receive a email or phone call that is going to change my life forever. I applied for a state job in May and took the test and scored a 97. I was contacted for a interview in June and then on July 5th I received a conditional offer depending upon a successful background check. I don't have any criminal background so I am just getting impatient because Its taking too long. The HR rep said 4 weeks so that takes it to the 29th of July.

This job would be a $16,000 increase in salary and beautiful health benefits since it would cost me $0. Plus I would be eligible for retirement after 10 years of service.

So you can see this would change my life forever. This would also me a special moment because I was fired from a city govt job 6 years ago and then would be able to rebound and get a state position 5 years later.

this is driving me crazy. Anyone recall a life changing moment?

I was working as a paralegal 27 years ago. I spent a whole day trying to get in touch with a government office that didn't care if it answered its phones. I decided I was meant to do something more, so when I finally completed the phone call I walked right out and came back with applications for law school and the admissions test.

Nice. The exam for the state test I took was on my cell phone because my computer died lol I was typing with one finger for 3 hours
