Here's another nice, non top 40 tune from 1972, "Summer Sun" by Jamestown Massacre. This one only made it to the #90 spot on Billboard and deserved to do better. Similar in sound to the popular band Chicago, if Chicago had recorded the song they might have had a big hit with it.

Cool, glad you enjoyed the song. Interesting comparison you made with Chicago & Jose Feliciano. It does sort of sound like Jose Feliciano, especially the beginning of the song with the guitar chords.

My understanding the song did well in the Chicago area but failed to do anything nationally but some did well in some places and was a hit in Hawaii.


This present day Hawaiian group does a superb version of it.
