I know it may seem odd to watch Christmas themed episodes in Summer but starting Sunday METV will debut a Christmas In July marathon featuring the best holiday themed sitcoms including the famous Christmas episode of Laverne And Shirley. So get an early start on the holiday season with this marathon Sunday on METV

I checked the schedule and I'm not seeing anything about a Christmas In July marathon.

Something's going on because the first Brady Bunch episode is S1Ep12 "The Voice of Christmas." But I'm not seeing Laverne and Shirley on Sunday's TV Guide.

Never quite understood the "Christmas in July" thing.

Don't get me wrong. I love Christmas. I just don't like Christmas in July.

Me neither. I can’t stand the summer heat. I would hate to live in Australia where they have Christmas in the summer.

Its seems weird that MeTV is airing Christmas episodes during the summer months. they would’ve waited until December.

Yeah, and why July? If anything I could see Christmas in June around the 25th , at least that would be a 6 month halfway point till Chtistmas! I don't understand the significance of showing Christmas movies and shows in July?

I don't even know how this Christmas in July thing got started in the first place.

Like I said previously we might as well have Halloween in May and Thanksgiving in June. Just like you mentioned Easter in October.

Some of these TV channels probably think it's great to show Christmas themed stuff during July in the middle of summer. Just like they also probably think it's great to show Summertime themed stuff during January in the middle of winter.

I'm a traditionalist also when it comes to Christmas themed stuff. It belongs in December, not July.

I think Hallmark Channel started it a few years ago. I haven't checked, but they're probably running a bunch of Christmas movies this month. It must work for them but I don't get it.

It's not just them. I've seen "Christmas in July" ads and sales promotions also. It's not just a Television thing.

Might be the odd one out I’m okay with Christmas in July. Some of my favorite episodes are the Christmas episodes of the TV Shows.Since some networks save the Christmas episodes until the holiday season. It’s a fantastic present to see Christmas episodes air at the half way point of the year.

Although I don’t want the Christmas episodes to air in July and not during the holiday season.

In addition I hate when Christmas episodes air right after Christmas.

Hallmarks 2 weeks of Christmas in July is to much. A weekend is okay at maximum.

That's what I always thought too. I guess Christmas in July is so popular b/c July is typically the hottest month (although, really, August is worse), so I never understood that at all.

Adding to this.... It's kind of off-topic, but my house doesn't have air-conditioning, and one summer my husband and I were miserable (I think the temp had gotten up to over 90) so he popped "A Charlie Brown Christmas" :tree: into the DVD player so that it would make him feel cooler watching a Christmas movie!

Hallmark overdoes CIJ and they WAY overdo the real thing. I think they start their movie binge right around Thanksgiving.

I saw METV's Christmas In July Marathon today and it was impressive and it was great fun to see The Monkees Christmas Show with the group's families at the end. And The Love Boat's Christmas episode Santa Santa Santa was funny with the dog and the three Santa Claus's trapped in an elevator. I can honestly say that METV did an impressive job with this marathon and hopefully METV shows these Christmas episodes during their Christmas marathon this year because they are really good

I agree with you. I enjoyed the Christmas episode of The Andy Griffith Show this past Friday. Its always nice to see the Saved By The Bell Christmas Episodes. It was Fantastic to see The Brady Bunch Christmas episode. I was curious on why they didn’t air A Very Brady Christmas from 12:30pm-2:30pm. Oh well, I hope they air it during the actual Holiday Season. Considering, how this past Holiday Season (2018) they only aired The Brady Bunch Christmas Episode once Through the entire Holiday Season it was nice to see it today. I also enjoyed The Monkee’s Christmas episode it’s hard to believe the kid actor on The Monkee’s Christmas Episode was Butch Patrick (Eddie) from The Munsters. I caught The Carol Burnett Christmas episode as well. I was surprised they didn’t air The Dick Van Dyke Christmas Episode. Hopefully the Holiday Season they will.

I said this on another post but I hope Me TV will air this Holiday Season the black and white Christmas episode of I Love Lucy. Since CBS airs it in color. I would love to see The Lucy Show & The Donna Reed Christmas episodes & The Happy Days Christmas Episode where the cast invites Fonzie over for Christmas. In addition The Many Loves Of Dobbie Gillis & Car 54, Where Are You? & Laverne & Shirley & The Bob Newhart Show & Newhart Christmas episodes. In a matter a fact it would be nice if Me TV would add some of these programs as well to its 4th Quarter Regular Schedule as well.

Indeed Me TV did a great job running this stunt.

last night, they showed the first two "MASH" Christmas episodes; DEAR DAD from season 1 and DEAR SIS from season 6. (obviously DEAR DAD was the only good one)

Yeah!! I guess the Christmas in July (the middle of the summer) is to get our minds off the miserable heat for a while by seeing and imagining a much cooler time of year !? ;):D:wave:

I can only watch Christmas themed movies and TV shows only once a year. Watching them in the Summer just seems weird. That's just me however.

I guess different strokes for different folks. :)

I think many holiday themed shows (game shows too) were taped out of season, but I don't care for them in summer.
