From the early 70's! They were like miniature Barbie dolls, only about 6 or 7 inches !:) I had Dawn (the blonde) and her three friends , Gloria ( but I remember her as having straighter hair and bangs , not like the redhead doll in this picture, maybe this one was a later model) ? And Angie and Dale (I remember her VERY bright lipstick) :D

Than later they came out with two other ones that I didn't get but I had a friend who had them. One with really long hair, I think her name was literally Long Locks! :D And another blonde with short hair who looked a lot like Dawn in the face) !!

Dawn was originally made by a toy company called Deluxe Reading which was also known as Deluxe Topper and Topper Toys and Dawn was known to be found in supermarket toy shelves in the 70's and had many different outfits playsets and other friends too and I think Dawn had a boyfriend too in the series though I cannot remember what the name of Dawn's boyfriend was. But even though Dawn proved to be a successful doll in competition with Barbie Dawn dolls left supermarket shelves after Deluxe Reading went bankrupt. In the 2000's Dawn dolls made a short comeback for a new generation of doll collectors. I'm a big collector of dolls myself and I remember seeing the new Dawn dolls when they made a comeback in a Toys "R" Us store and I asked my mom if she had played with Dawn dolls when she was a girl and she had never heard of them before. But next to Barbie dolls Dawn dolls are very collectible 70's toys

Yeah . I had lots of outfits for them. I also had the Dawn beauty pageant stage! :)There was a male doll named Gary . I had forgotten about him but just came across him when I googled, and now I do remember him!! Either I had the Gary doll or my friend did? :)

I LOVE them!!! When I was young I had both Raggedy Ann's and Andy's ! Now I still have several Raggedy Ann's as I have said in other threads !! :)

I wish they would make a movie about the haunted Raggedy Ann Annabelle is based on! ;) Wouldn't that be cool?

We also had a bunch of the Raggedy Ann and Andy books, my oldest sister has them now.

As much as I enjoy the Annabelle movies, a more factually accurate movie would be interesting. I know you mentioned the ep somewhere before, but the Waltons episode with Elizabeth turning 13 and her Raggedy Ann doll moving, proved that kind of doll could be creepy.

Instead of Freddy vs. Jason, I wanna see Dawn Doll vs. Snuggle bear. :D

I didn't play with dolls, I played with action figures!

My brother had a GI Joe and I used him for Barbie's boyfriend since I didn't have a Ken doll. He also had the GI Joe Jeep which I'd put them in to go on dates. ;)
I never had a Dawn doll, they must not have been as popular here since I never saw any of them.

I use to mix various action figures when playing Star Wars, the play sets had little pegs, and most action figures had holes in their feet so you could stand them up. When I didn't have enough Star Wars characters to populate the play sets I'd use superhero and figures from Battlestar Galactica.

Mixing them all up was probably fun. My brother was too old to collect Star Wars & Battlestar Galactica stuff when they were popular. He was into War type Action Heroes and Hot Wheels.
