HBO has renewed drama series "Euphoria" for a second season.

“Euphoria creator Sam Levinson has built an incredible world with an extraordinary cast led by the supremely talented Zendaya,” HBO’s EVP Programming Francesca Orsi said Thursday. “We are so grateful that he chose HBO as the home for this groundbreaking series. We look forward to following these complex characters as their journeys continue through the challenging world they inhabit.”

HBO will get a third dose of "Euphoria". The Emmy-winning drama series starring Zendaya from creator Sam Levinson has been renewed for Season 3.

"Euphoria’s" renewal comes as its sophomore season continues to deliver ratings records for both HBO and HBO Max. The Season 2 premiere currently boasts 14 million total viewers across all HBO platforms.

“Sam, Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have taken Season 2 to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form, while maintaining its heart. We couldn’t be more honored to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into Season 3,” said Francesca Orsi, EVP of HBO Programming.

HBO Refutes Toxic/Unsafe Workplace Allegations from "Euphoria" Season 2

Claims that "Euphoria" Season 2 working conditions were toxic or unsafe are invalid, HBO says.

In a statement obtained by TVLine, the premium cable network says that the sophomore season of the popular high school drama took place in “full compliance with all safety guidelines and guild protocols.”




A Daily Beast story published in February cited “production sources” who said that Barbie Ferreira — who plays Kat — slipped and injured herself while shooting Episode 4’s hot-tub scene; the story also reported complaints of longer-than-necessary, 15- to 17-hour shooting days.

“The well-being of cast and crew on our productions is always a top priority,” the network says in the statement. “The production was in full compliance with all safety guidelines and guild protocols. It’s not uncommon for drama series to have complex shoots, and COVID protocols add an additional layer. We maintain an open line of communication with all the guilds, including SAG-AFTRA. There were never any formal inquiries raised.”

"Euphoria" Season 3 Pushed Back to 2025

"Euphoria" season three has been delayed. According to Deadline, the new season of the HBO drama has been pushed back due to the ongoing writers' strike and series creator Sam Levinson's work on "The Idol".

The next instalment is now likely to air in 2025 at the earliest.



"Euphoria is one of those [shows] that we had begun writing in tandem with post-production on Idol, but at this point, we don't have countless scripts," HBO head of drama Francesca Orsi explained to Deadline.

"We can't start shooting, so the delivery of that show — ideally in 2025 — will be determined on when we can pick back up with Sam, who at this point is [not writing] and just finishing post on Idol."

The chances of "Euphoria" airing its third season next year have increased after HBO revealed that the youth-skewing drama is set to enter production in January.

Deadline reported in March that filming plans for the Sam Levinson-created series had been pushed back with Levinson still working on scripts. Filming will now start at the top of next year with all of the principle cast returning.

Also, expect a time jump between the second and third seasons.

HBO Drama Boss Promises Fans Satisfying Third & Likely Final Season of "Euphoria"

HBO’s head of drama Francesca Orsi on Monday said that she planned to visit the set for the first time this Wednesday.

“I wanted to give them their first week to themselves to settle in. They have beautifully,” she said during an interview with Deadline about HBO’s upcoming drama slate at "The White Lotus" premiere. “I talked to Sam this morning at like, 6:30 in the morning on his way to set. Everyone’s so happy to be back, and I’m relieved we’re finally here.”



Season 3 is fully expected to be the final installment whose cast has blown up and have big feature careers, including stars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi and recurring player Colman Domingo, who are all back.

“We’ve talked about it, I don’t think anything is over until it’s over, but it’s been discussed that this is the end,” Orsi said.



If indeed this is the last installment, fans will be happy with it.

“I think you will be very satisfied with this season, and how we bring each of the characters’ whole narrative,” Orsi said.
