She started her career playing pop princess character Hannah Montana for what she would describe as five long years, from 2006 to 2011.

And like many child stars, Miley Cyrus vividly remembers the moment she was ready for more serious roles.

In an interview with Elle (https://www.elle.com/culture/music/a28280119/miley-cyrus-elle-interview/) Magazine published on Thursday, the 26-year-old star recalled wanting to stop being Hannah Montana, saying, '...it felt ridiculous. The minute I had sex, I was kind of like, I can’t put the f***ing wig on again.' She was 18-years-old when the show ended.

She continued by explaining why having sex made her feel differently about portraying the country-turned-pop Disney Character.

'It got weird. It just felt like...I was grown up,' she said.

Cyrus also recalled another time she saw another children's character behaving like an adult and feeling like she understood them.

'One time I went backstage at Disneyland, and Peter Pan was smoking a cigarette. And I was like, “That’s me. That’s the kind of dreams I’m crushing.” That’s how everyone felt with the bong video,' the Wrecking Ball hitmaker said, continuing, 'but I’m not a Disney mascot. I’m a person.'
