View Full Version : Fox Television Stations To Carry Weigel Broadcasting’s Decades TV Network
Stations in the Fox O&O group will get Decades on a subchannel in the fall.
EXCLUSIVE: Beginning in Q3 2019, Weigel Broadcasting Co.’s Decades television network will be carried on Fox-owned stations in 12 major markets as part of a multi-year agreement with Fox Television Stations, LLC. The deal ups the network’s U.S. coverage to 60% with 65 television affiliates nationwide. Decades will launch on Fox stations in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, San Francisco, Houston, Atlanta, Tampa, Phoenix, Detroit, Minneapolis, Austin and Gainesville.
“Frank Cicha and the Fox Television Stations have been terrific partners in the Movies! TV Network, and their enthusiasm for joining the Decades affiliate family has been significant,” said Neal Sabin, Vice Chairman of Weigel Broadcasting Co. “We look forward to working with the station group on this beloved network.”

I'm surprised that Boston isn't on this list, but I hope that it expands to more markets so that it can be included.
BigManMike 07-11-2019, 04:47 PM I so hate that Memphis Fox is no longer O & O because it had Decades before the big changes last year and now it’s on a crummy low power station that is almost impossible to get. I hope that maybe Decades will somehow be available streaming somewhere.

I hope so too, and hope that you can get Decades back as well.
Still wondering what happened to the Decades joint venture between Weigel and CBS. Seems to have disappeared as part of the deal to launch Start.
Start TV was a huge mistake. This new deal might be something that the networks have planned to make up for it.

I agree with you on that.
Duster76 07-11-2019, 10:28 PM Great news, and I agree with the comments about Start.

It says Fox-owned stations. Fox doesn’t own its Boston affiliate anymore; they swapped it to Cox Media Group several years ago in exchange for the San Francisco Fox station, which was owned by Cox. It’s the same reason that Buzzr, which is on Fox O&Os, is not on WFXT either, and why Movies! is no longer on WFXT.

Plater of Everything 07-12-2019, 01:16 PM Yes! Detroit's one of the markets!
Coffeecup 07-12-2019, 05:53 PM Someways I am not disappointed that I have lost Antenna and Decades. I do fine with MeTV and Cozi and on occasions find something on ThisTv. With too much tv I would never get off the couch and my DVR would be filled to capacity.

How is Start TV a huge mistake? It airs fairly popular dramas doesn't it?

I personally think they didn’t have the money to start another network. Why did Start have to replace Decades on the .2 subchannels of the CBS O & Os? If they had the money they needed why could they have not kept Decades on .2 and added a .3 for Start?

Yes, yes, yes, oh happy day!!
I was devastated when Decades! was yanked off the air in NYC and have literally been checking the website every other month for over a year to find out when it was going to come back. I think Decades! will relaunch on August 1st. I saw a message this week during a broadcast at my local FOX affiliate telling everyone to rescan their TV sets on the 1st.

I'm glad that you’re getting Decades back!

Thank you. It wasn't so much the reruns that got me hooked but "Through the Decades" and many of the documentaries that aired. I just like the format. I like the other retro networks (AntennaTV, Buzzr, etc.), but the format is a lot more creative.
mikey0581 07-15-2019, 12:36 AM Yeah i dont see milwaukee or chicago as any cities getting this on there fox stations. I have Decades on a low frequency channel too and i have troubles getting it. I was hoping Pluto Tv would get Decades or even maybe Stirr since they have a lot of rabbit ear stations on there. We will see if it happens still.

I can see it coming to either Stirr or Pluto TV. It would be nice if there was a streaming option as well.
