Is Emma Boettcher really in 15th place, or whatever place is last on the list (16th, perhaps, because one of their teacher contestants has passed away, or perhaps 12th place in regular season since they have a few tournament winners competing) or do you think she was invited just for the publicity value of the rematch with James, and/or so James is not TOO certain to win? Aren't there other four-day winners?

You're right, there were a few other four-day winners that should have gotten that last spot, and I think Emma was indeed invited back just for the publicity value.
