Did you ever see a show where so much was cut out, certain parts of the plot or the entire plot didn't make sense?

I've seen it on The Simpsons, but I don't recall the specifics.

That sometimes happens. Sometimes the only reason I fully understand the storyline of an episode is because I had originally seen that episode years ago before TV channels started heavily editing shows.Or I saw the episode when it originally ran.

Any old 50s or 60s sitcom controlled by Viacom or CBS. The editing is horrible. I could (but won't because it would bore everyone) cite specific shows/episodes which are chopped up and I can't figure them out, mainly because the chopped episode is all that's available.

the problem is; as these "retro-channels" become more and more popular and more and more of them appear the price of these vintage shows keeps increasing. So stations have to increase the number of commercials.

This may not fall into this category, but once my husband and I were watching Frasier on the Hallmark Channel and there was a scene where Martin says something to Niles. I think he called him a jackass or something but Hallmark cut the word out but the word was what made the scene so funny. My husband even wanted to know what was said, so it kind of ruined the episode in a way.

Unfortunately, several times. Pretty much every show on TVLAND and most of the Viacom stations. :mad:

TV Land is horrible when it comes to editing (and pretty much everything else). Cycle back 10-15 years ago, they did an excellent job editing. Now--just horrible. If you know the episode, you can see they cut out really funny stuff.

The Viacom leadership is just the pits!
