View Full Version : Arnie Little_stinker 07-04-2019, 08:04 PM Who here remembers "Arnie" with Herschel Bernardi? OH Nuts! 07-04-2019, 09:55 PM I do. I really liked it. One of those Oldie-But-Goodies that never got DVD’d or syndicated, but I wish did. icecream 07-05-2019, 02:27 AM I have heard of Arnie but never seen it. Now knowing that Charles Nelson Reilly stars in Arnie, I doubt I ever will, can't stand him. howilu 07-05-2019, 10:09 AM I remember Arnie. It aired on Saturday nights its first season and moved to Monday in the second. Roger Bowen played the title character's boss Hamilton Majors. It was the only sitcom Herschel Bernardi starred in. Bonniegirl 07-05-2019, 02:24 PM I remember Arnie. I liked that show !;) Sue Ann Langdon played his wife and he had a really cute Son named Richard!:) My Sister and i liked him! :D https://i.pinimg.com/originals/80/77/9f/80779fb280edf8942c06f2fa332b72a2.jpg https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/cqIAAOSw6EhUSqBU/s-l300.jpg rcbrad 07-05-2019, 07:31 PM Sue Ane Langdon was someone I enjoyed the roles she was in. She also was Aunt Becky in Three's Company. Her name was spelled Ane and not Ann. I took notice of that years ago and wondered about the different spelling. Hazel Anyday 07-05-2019, 10:41 PM Ah yes, I remember it well. I also remember being disappointed when it was cancelled after only one season. I remember the guy who played Arnie's boss (don't ask me his name, I can only remember his face). It was a funny show, least it was to me as a kid. I really don't remember Charles Nelson Reilly in it at all. He was in Ghost & Mrs. Muir, but I don't remember him in Arnie. I'd have to investigate to find out if CNR was really ever in Arnie, but right now I's goin' by mammary.;) treky 07-06-2019, 01:58 AM I remember it. It was on CBS for two seasons, not one. First season Saturdays at 9 right before Mary Tyler Moore and MY 3 SONS at 8:30, second season Mondays a t 10:30 right after MY 3 SONS at 10. Roger Bowen (Col. Blake in the movie version of MASH) played his boss and Charles Nelson Reilly played his next-door neighbor who was a TV chef named The Giddy-Ap Gourmet or something like that. It was about a guy named Arnie Nuvo who had been working for years on the loading dock of the Continental Flange company and one day he was suddenly transferred to an upper management position. (I could have some of this wrong; as I'm going from memory) As I recall it was a pretty funny show and I wish ME TV would show it and/or it'd be released on DVD. (clips from it are un You Tube) Bonniegirl 07-06-2019, 02:41 AM I remember it. It was on CBS for two seasons, not one. That is totally it!! ;):) The only thing is for some reason (like Hazel Anyday) I don't remember Charles Nelson Reilly ? I even distinctly remember in an ep. where Arnie was going to play poker and he didn't know that the stakes were going to be as high as they were being he never played with the rich guys before his promotion, and his wife actually ironed a 20 dollar bill that he took with him , to him that was a lot of money! Or it could have even been a ten or a five? I don't remember? I just remember Sue Ane Langdon (his wife) with the ironing board set up and her ironing the money that he was to take to the poker game!! :) I too wish METV or another retro station would pick it up!!:) Bonniegirl 07-06-2019, 02:51 AM Ah yes, I remember it well. Herschel Bernardi WAS the voice of Charlie the tuna!!! How funny!!!:D As I said in my other post, I don't remember Charles Nelson Reilly in this show! Which is funny cause I really like CNR , I totally remember him in the Ghost and Mrs. Muir but not this one! But according to the other posters and IMDB he was indeed in the show! ;) I remember a secretary named Felicia , she was chubby, and I think she had red/curly hair and glasses?? !! ;):) treky 07-06-2019, 02:57 AM she was his secretary and she had curly hair and glasses. I remember there was an episode where Arnie and his wife (I think her name was Lil) felt sorry for her because she wasn't very attractive so they were trying to get her a date. He replaced Dick Van Patten who left the series after season 1.I guess neither of their roles were major. While Charles Nelson Reilly was only in 8 episodes, Dick Van Patten was in less than half that total at a mere 3 episodes. Other than the first three on the cast list who were in all 48 episodes, none of the other actors were in more than 18. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065274/fullcredits?ref_=tt_ql_1 Bonniegirl 07-08-2019, 12:05 AM Wouldn't Michael Lembeck have been a great addition to the cast?;) Or maybe just a recurring character as Richie's friend! They are around the same age and don't they look like they could be friends?;) Here is Michael from an ep. on Room 222 circa very early 1970's ! :) http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/attachment.php?attachmentid=214158&d=1483630837 Hazel Anyday 07-10-2019, 09:01 PM Well well, today watching my Wednesday Green Acres episode, today it was the one about Oliver and Lisa taking care of a bunch of kids while the mother (who they take to the hospital) has her baby. How Lisa & Oliver get stuck watching a stranger's kids or why a mother would allow strangers to watch her kids for days on end, well it's best not to ask, this is sitcom world, where young hot babes are always alone and beg any guy that comes along to go with them. Anyway, I diverge, in today's episode was none other than a very little Pam Ferdin!! She was probably about 8 years old here, she was the only cute kid in the hoard of kids. Speaking of Pam, have any of youz ever seen Pam in a very dramatic episode of Baretta where she plays a very very pregnant teen about to have a baby who lives on the streets with her little brother? It was the most dramatic acting role I've ever seen Pam in, she was very believable and Baretta couldn't help but care to try to help her. treky 07-11-2019, 12:15 AM Well well, today watching my Wednesday Green Acres episode, today it was the one about Oliver and Lisa taking care of a bunch of kids while the mother (who they take to the hospital) has her baby. I had looked the other day and you are right, no Part 2 !!:( I watched 1 and 3 but 2 seems to be where most of the important parts of the story would be ! Coffeecup 07-12-2019, 06:05 PM Gosh that is show that I watched in its prime. I did indeed like it. Hershel was in an older drama show. I want to say Peter Gunn? Could be another show for it was shown in the late 1950's.
