I know that I'm being a bit harsh since we have to take into consideration that she (http://www.annjillian.com/index.php) was dealing with cancer around this time. Plus, you have to take into consideration the three year lay-off that IAL (https://www.datalounge.com/thread/19290146-why-were-susan-sullivan-and-wendy-schaal-thrown-off-it-s-a-living-) had to deal with in-between Seasons 2 (the last one on ABC) and Season 3 (the first one in syndication).
Watching reruns of It's a Living (https://web.archive.org/web/20061031125318/http://www.jumptheshark.com/i/itsaliving.htm) on Logo, I've noticed that a lot of Ann's wardrobe (when she wasn't in her waitress uniform) was pretty unflattering and grotesque even by 1980s standards. I don't know how to really explain it other than other than they made her look like a linebacker (of course being the '80s, there were a lot of shoulder pads).
