I always used to see Stephen J. Cannell Productions produce anything from sitcoms to crime dramas and I always thought the intro of Stephen J. Cannell Productions was really cool where a guy is sitting in front of a typewriter and tosses a piece of paper in the air and it becomes the logo. Did Stephen J. Cannell Productions get sold to another company? Because I know that Stephen J. Cannell is no longer living and is he the actual guy sitting in front of the typewriter tossing the paper

The studio was located in North Vancouver, Canada. Many of his series, including 21 Jump Street, and The Commish were filmed in Vancouver. One episode of Jump Street was filmed in my neighborhood. The girls went bersek for Johnny Depp.
From Wikipedia:
On July 31, 1995, New World Communications acquired his Cannell Entertainment production company. Cannell then founded the Cannell Studios.[6] One of the first shows produced by the newly established Cannell Studios was the short-lived but critically acclaimed corporate drama Profit.

That is indeed Mr. Cannell himself at the typewriter.

Every time I see the Stephen J. Cannell logo intro Stephen reminds me of myself when i'm in my room writing on my computer and I wondered how Stephen J. Cannell decided to create the logo intro for his company? I also know that The Simpsons and Family Guy made parodies of that intro for their episodes

I found this and hope it is helpful "Since 2006, Carsey-Werner acquired the distribution rights to his shows. Today, majority of Cannell's shows are owned by the Cannell Studios while others are owned by either NBCUniversal Television or Sony Pictures Television."
