Now, with all of the "Cheers" alumni making appearances on Frasier over the years, I was wondering, why they never brought Kirstie Alley back as Rebecca...

I think it would be an interesting episode, because, after all, Frasier and Miss Howe did have a brief thing going near the end of the "Cheers" run and did almost "do the deed" so to speak.
An episode with them flirting with the idea of rekindling a relationship would be interesting.
Plus, I'm sure Miss Alley would like to do more than those God awful Pier 1 commercials.

Of course, if Kirstie already has made an appearence on Frasier and I have overlooked it, please forgive me, because I was out very late last night and had way too much to drink, so not all the neurons are firing, if you catch my drift...

No, Shes never made an appearence on it. Some people around the boards know why. I think its because of family or something.

There are various reasons why Kirstie hasn't reprised the role of Rebecca. One of those reasons is Alley doesn't believe in revisiting roles once she's already played them.

I hope thats not true...she played the same role in look whos talking 1-3 and I really want her to be at the cheers reunion.

Never say never, but Alley has stated she doesn't want to return to the Rebecca character.

I still think it would have been a great episode...

Sam, Woody, Diane, Carla, Cliff, Norm and Lilith have all made appearances on Frasier.

Rebecca is the only one with the exception of Coach(Who never appeared for obvious reasons)

i must have missed the carla episode....would you tell me what it was about? I know he wasnt a MAJOR character but later in the show in cheers the guy who sat next to norm and cliff...he wore the glasses what was his in-show name?

The guy with the glasses I think you are referring to is named Paul, and Carla made a guest appearence in the episode called "Cheerful Goobyes".

Frasier returned to Boston for some sort of conference with his family. While at the airport in Boston, he runs into Cliff, who invites him to his retirement party. At the party are Cliff, Norm, Carla, Paul, Phil and even Twitchel. It was an OK episode, but not exactly the kind of Cheers reunion a Cheers fanatic would want.

Oh my God, I would LOOOOOOOOVE to see Kirstie Alley return! Kirstie Alley is the greatest actress to walk the planet and i would like also to see her in something besides the Pier 1 Import commercials (which are not terrible, by the way). She hasn't done much since "Veronica's Closet" ended its run in 2000, and I think if she returned as Rebecca, it would be a good thing for her career-wise. The reason she won't do a guest spot on "Frasier" is because psychiatry is against her beliefs as a Scientologist. The only way she'll do an episode of "Frasier," she once said, is if she could play the worst psychiatrist on Earth instead of Rebecca Howe.

So it looks like she's going to be the only surving "Cheers" cast member who didn't reprise their role on "Frasier."

Kirstie Alley has repeatedly stated that she would never reprise her role as Rebecca and would never do a reunion. I think she said something like whats the point it's depressing and everybody looks old. Whatever it was she said she has made it pretty clear she is not going to reprise her role. Which is pretty sad because if they do have a reunion, they'd have to cut her out or work her out of the plot.

But that leaves room for Diane to return as the leading lady. . .:)

Oh, I am so telling Steve you said that!! J/k Actually, though when I started watching Cheers I was a hardcore Diane fan, being obsessed w/ her would scare me. The reason? Diane seriously reminds me of my roommate. I don't know if that's a compliment or a put-down, but I love them both so. . . .It would just be a little scary to obsess about someone I associate so closely with someone I know. :)

I know she was a big part.

Im saying that she HAS to come back. So the Cheers/Frasier universe can be complete.

But then, I just made a joke that she hasnt done anything BIG with her acting career since.

Nothing against Kirstie Alley, but wait, yeah.

She's being rude to the fans, and her friend-- Kelsey Grammer.

He begs for them to come on the show, but she's stuck in her ways, when it could be written in PERFECTLY.

Then again, Kirstie didn't come back to reprise her role from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Supposedly, her agent asked for too much money and Kirstie was worried about being typecast so early in her career. They got this other actress, Robin Curtis to play Lt. Saavik in the next to movies.

Yes, it's too bad that Rebecca Howe didn't ever appear on Frasier; she was the only major Cheers alum. not to show up in the series. I enjoyed the appearances of the other Cheers cast on Frasier & a Howe appearance would have been nice & very fitting.
