To each his or her own. I found The Bird to be a tortured episode, struggling to find a point. For one thing, Frank's sympathy for a bird is out of place. In another episode, he says he killed a bird once. But the episode just goes on and on...OK, we get it, the Barones disagree with the McDougals! What else is new?

Thank You Notes...a very funny one. I love that scene where Amy is surrendering, and Debra makes a huge effort to recover her from the "dark side." Hilarious. Also, so typical Marie at the end.

Home from School is another good one. Ray solves the problem for a change of pace, and it's one of the few episodes where one of the twins actully gets to do some acting...and did a pretty good job of it.

Misery Loves Company - another funny one. I like untypical reactions, like when Debra reaches the end of her rope when Amy continues the prolonged Robert/Amy toasts to each other. And Robert's reaction when Amy says she got a copy of the marriage book for Frank and Marie. Frank'c comment that he's not interested in that subject, also funny. I think Peter Boyle was quite ill for this filming.

Lateness, another good one. You wonder how long Debra can walk around with that curling iron attached. Funny when Ray finally realized he was gonna get it when he got home.

Golf For It - one of the funniest episodes of the whole series. What a scene in that van, with that fight! What was left for them to do to each other? I wonder how many takes it took.

By the way, that Mentor episode, another tortured episode. Almost unwatchable. Like that Janitor episode in season 9. You could almost hear the actors saying, please, end this, for all our sakes!
