Are you referring to Devin Williams, who drove his truck really fast through the forest nearly running people over?

The man was Devin Williams and they only found his skull two years after he vanished. It was never fully explained what caused his bizarre behavior, but many speculate a "fugue state" or other medical condition.

I saw this a few nights ago (same episode as Michael Johnston and Rochelle Robinson).

I remember seeing this when it first aired and thinking it was super mysterious and weird. It is certainly weird.

But, now I just think he had some either mental or physical problem (basically something biological) and wandered off and died in a manner very similar to others on UM such as Don Kemp, David Stone, and Dan Short.

There really is no evidence of foul play or anything else really going on, even though UM tried to play up the whole "staged disappearance" angle.

It's kinda like a stroke or a heart attack. They could happen anywhere at any time and are triggered by biological factors.

I think whatever happened to him was medical in nature, sudden, and occurred somewhere where he couldn't get help.

Considering his skull was the only thing found, I doubt we will ever know for sure.

Truck drivers are under an extreme amount of stress. From my understanding, they are required to make deadlines. In the event Devin fell behind and was going to be late with a shipment, I could certainly see him having a psychotic break. (Or maybe I've been working with stressed out lawyers too much... lol).

Gail Delano was not suffering from a fugue state. She was depressed and suicidal, unfortunately. Nothing more than that.

Blair Adams may have been suffering from a fugue state or perhaps dissociation.

Driving a truck is still stressful, however, it's far better now than back in the 70's and 80's and better than when Devin disappeared in 1995 as well.

Undiagnosed bipolar disorder is a valid possibility in both cases mentioned above. I think moreso with Blair Adams, but still a possibility in both.

The Unsolved site has some.. Interesting comments.. Have to take those with a grain of salt. Supposedly the daughter and the person who portrayed Devin on UM commented there (reminder, grain of salt).. Some posters mentioned carbon monoxide poisoning.. But it would be a touch odd.. Yes, it can lead to confusion, but if it were that bad, I think he would have been more apt to just fall asleep. And I'm not positive how long the confusion would last after the exposure ended.
