FX Sets Fall Premiere Dates

FX has set Season 14 of its first hit comedy, "It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia", for Wednesday, September 25 at 10 p.m.

It's Always Sunny will already tie ABC’s The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet as the longest-running live-action comedy series with Season 14. As for additional seasons, FX Networks Chairman John Landgraf says: "It’s completely up to them. We will absolutely make more seasons of Sunny if the gang chooses to make more seasons of Sunny."

The cast returns tonight to the FX comedy for Season 14 as they continue taking on other projects, from Rob McElhenney's Apple TV+ series to Glenn Howerton's canceled A.P. Bio. We just turn on the news, man," says McElhenney. "Look online, look at social media. There’s no shortage of the places the human condition can take you to satirize.” Howerton adds: "I don’t know, maybe we’ll take breaks here and there, but I don’t know if we’ll ever stop. At least until they kick us off.”

With this week's Season 14 premiere, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet are tied for the record of longest-running live-action sitcoms. “We don’t have a lot of hardware accolades to brag about,” admits Day. “So I guess we can brag about statistics...I honestly don’t have a clue why it’s lasted this long,” he adds. “We’ve always been a bit of a counterculture show. We started out as the anti-sitcom.
