In 1989 A unique way to watch music videos was introduced to TV called The Box Music Network and what made The Box different from MTV and VH1 was the fact that The Box actually played a selection of music videos that listeners could select from their personal playlist by calling a special telephone number to request a music video for a fee. While slightly better than MTV and VH1 The Box Music Network had selections of videos from many top artists ranging from Michael Jackson Whitney Houston Rod Stewart Will Smith Prince Ozzy Osbourne and others The Box had to share competition with the other two channels and from time to time The Box often had special sweepstakes such as Will Smith concert tickets or a meet and greet with Garth Brooks and was a smart concept. In 2000 The Box went bankrupt due to the infancy of music services such as Pandora and the birth of Youtube. With music videos being no longer seen on TV it sure would be cool to see a channel like The Box be on TV again so people could see music videos by their favorite artists anytime they like
