Just wondering do local Networks need News anymore?

People get there News & Weather & Sports now from other sources. Do you think they need it onair at 4AM & 4:30AM & 5AM & 5:30AM & 6AM & 6:30AM & 7AM & 7:30AM & 8AM & 8:30AM & 12pm & 4pm & 4:30pm & 5pm & 5:30pm & 6pm & 7pm & 10pm & 11pm?

How would you Schedule your local stations if they did away with local news? (Or even cut back)? Or do you feel local networks should air onair all these times?

The only time I watch the news is when I'm at work. We have a TV in the break room and the news is pretty much the thing people watch most. The thing about the news is that if you're waiting for a particular story you have to sit through all the other stuff. I kind of prefer getting my news on Facebook or online. That way if it's important enough you can just go to the story you want to see. It would be weird not having the news at all, but I don't think it's as relevant today as it used to be. Seattle used to have a 24 hour news station called Northwest Cable News. It was nice to be able to tune in at any time to see the news, but it was so repetitive and so forth.
