If you happen to live in Canada you probably heard of Deja View. Deja View is a channel similar to Nick At Nite and TV Land and has many great sitcoms ranging from Who's The Boss to The Cosby Show Roseanne and other sitcoms. Since it's launch in 2001 Deja View has grown to be one of Canada's best known sitcom channels. I have often wondered if someday Deja View will make it's American debut because when I saw promo clips of Deja View on Youtube I think Deja View is a great channel and I think an American version of Deja View would be nice and be a competitor to Me TV FETV and all the other sitcom channels
Would Deja View work in America?

DejaView used to be a great channel but now it's practically a joke. Like other Canadian specialty channels it had some great shows on there for its first half-dozen years or so but after that the quality has really gone down. Today, the major Canadian networks don't place a high priority on some of their specialty channels, in particular the 'retro' variety like DejaView and Comedy Gold (which used to be TV Land Canada and was loaded with great stuff!). Look at what they have to offer today and you might not be so enthusiastic about it:

Now if you want an example of a really good classic TV station in Canada, the only one I would recommend to anyone at the moment is CHCH TV in Hamilton. It is a local OTA station (11.1) that last week celebrated its 65th anniversary and only recently has embraced the concept of classic series along with its viewers. I have been waiting on pins and needles for them to release their fall lineup for over a week now. So far, all I know is that they will be adding "St Elsewhere" and "Hill Street Blues" along with other goodies that they are still not ready to reveal yet. Until then, this is what CHCH will be showing this summer:

10:00 am I Dream Of Jeannie
10:30 Bewitched
11:00 Sanford & Son
11:30 The Monkees
12:00 pm MASH (new time) (moved from 7:30 pm)
12:30 One Day At A Time
1:00 The Jeffersons
1:30 The Partridge Family (returns Mon June 17, replaces Barney Miller)
2:00 Starsky & Hutch
3:00 Fantasy Island
4:00 The Facts Of Life
4:30 Who's The Boss?
5:00 Cheers
5:30 Happy Days

Would you consider this lineup to be better than what Antenna TV or MeTV have at the moment? If not, stick around. It could get better in the fall!

^Not fair. I'd love to see St. Elsewhere on one of our syndicated channels.

The bootleg copy I have of “The Ropers” was recorded from Deja View.

OH Nuts!

Certainly a nice lineup; but Antenna’s ain’t too shabby either.
