Netflix Renews "Lucifer" for 5th and Final Season

On the heels of the Season 4 debut of "Lucifer", Netflix has picked up a fifth season of the comic book drama, which will be its last.

“We’re thrilled that Lucifer fans around the world have embraced this series on Netflix, and we can’t wait to give them the big finish they’ve all been waiting for,” the streamer said in a statement.



“We are so incredibly thankful to Netflix for resurrecting our show last season, and now letting us finish the story of Lucifer on our terms,” series executive producers Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson said.

“Most importantly, we want to thank the fans for their incredible passion and support. The best is yet to come!!”

Season 5 will have the same number of episodes as Lucifer's first Netflix season. Co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich tweeted the news, adding "we’re going to make every minute count!!"

It had been previously announced in June that "Lucifer's" farewell run would be 10 episodes, but it has now been expanded to 16 episodes.
