Wally: I remember Andy he used to come around the other house and do odd jobs. Then he stopped coming.”
He stopped coming because he got a job as an assistant principal/music director at Beaver’s school.

Yeah on Boozin' Andy, Beaver should have asked, "Haven't I seen you someplace afore? Like maybe at school?"

I really love his talk with Beaver at the end and was so moved by his apology for getting Beaver in trouble, happy he had a friend who cared. “An empty life and an empty bottle go hand in hand.” Well written.

Random thoughts on this episode:
Beaver is just such a normal, innocent kid in this one. Singing Clementine (Hey CBS, Universal doesn't seem to have trouble licensing music on DVD--why do you?), strolling around without a care in the world. Wasn't his talk with Andy at the end, in the gutter? How appropriate!
Mathers really played the dining room scene well, and got Ward to admit he and June were wrong to hide Andy's troubles.
Mathers didn't have too much longer before his acting started to slide.
This role was best of the three that Wendell Holmes had on the show.

Wendell Holmes was a wonderful actor. It's a shame he died a couple years after his LITB episodes, of a heart attack I believe.
