View Full Version : Interviews with people who "declined to participate" that you would like to see?
justins5256 06-04-2019, 09:07 AM Over the years, many people germane to cases profiled on the show have been asked to appear for an interview, but declined. Typically, Robert Stack or Dennis Farina would say that these individuals "declined to participate in the broadcast." Of these situations, who would you most like to see an interview with?
In no particular order...
Michael Haim
Robert Page
Jeremy Witherell
Frank Hansen
Terri Hoffman
The witness with Shelly Malone when she died who would only issue a typed statement
The district attorney in the Johnny Lee Wilson case
The district attorney in the Thomas Drake case
Tim Bindner
TheCars1986 06-04-2019, 09:31 AM Dwight Radcliffe and anyone from Ron Gillespie's family.
RobinW 06-04-2019, 09:55 AM I have no idea if she was ever asked to do an interview, but Tim McClure's wife.
Chief Aldo Gaburri or anyone from the Baldwin Police Department in the Michael Rosenblum case
dynoguy88 06-04-2019, 12:38 PM It's kind of interesting that many of these people refusing an interview had no impact on how insanely guilty they already came across; like Beverly Noe, Michael Haim and Mary Gillespie.

Beverly Noe was definitely one interview I’d have loved to see. After seeing her mother and son, you know damn well the apple didn’t fall far from the tree.
Todd Mueller 06-04-2019, 03:04 PM Great idea for a thread, justin!
+1 for Beverly Noe, Tim Bindner, and Tim McClure's wife

amandab1234 06-05-2019, 01:15 AM She didn’t deny an interview but I would’ve liked to hear from the woman who last saw Kurt Sova(the one who hosted the party )
jbjr56 06-05-2019, 04:04 AM Liked to hear from some of the townspeople, city govt, cops in that little town with the brothel. 2 of the ladies were killed.
The district attorney after Dave Dowaliby was released from prison. Plus what were the grandmother’s thoughts on the abduction and murder of Jackie. What was she doing? Was she suspicious of anyone?
jbjr56 06-05-2019, 04:07 AM Ed Carter
Amnesia Tyler's ex-wife.
Ed Carter was that the name of the cop looked at in the brothel case I quoted. If yes definitely him. The cop turned - office custodian - turned pimp.
Fletch 06-05-2019, 10:17 PM Peter Hill’s parents. Peter was the boy who died alongside Scott Johnson in the Bullhead City shack fire. His parents reportedly wanted nothing to do with the segment, as they believed the deaths were accidental. It would have been interesting to see their thoughts in direct contrast to Sue Johnson’s.

Keith Warren's father too.

Or the friend he went to the party with.

amandab1234 06-13-2019, 01:45 AM I don’t think she declined an interview, but an interview with John harden’s second wife would’ve been interesting. He up & left his first wife out of nowhere (at least that’s how UM portrayed it) yet she still spoke so highly of him.

YES. I have always wanted to know more about that whole situation.

Same here! I'm much more interested in the crime aspect of this story than the supernatural portion. It was such a brutally premeditated murder. I'd like to know if it had anything to do with him leaving his first marriage (as some on these forums have speculated), or if there was a totally different motive. I always found it touching that his first wife spoke so highly of him and seemed to bear no ill will that he had left her. She went out of her way to mention what a loving, protective father he was.

This (https://www.theledger.com/news/20061026/poltergeist-associated-with-clermonts-only-unsolved-murder) article goes into much more detail about the murder, and it even says that the owners of the house at the time of filming the UM segment met with Hardin's 2nd wife. So she was present when the re-enactments were filmed, but she never appeared on camera. And I can't find it now, but I am 99% certain I read an article which said that Hardin's 2nd wife's ex and her father were both suspects. The father didn't approve due to their age difference (I think his 2nd wife was 12 years younger than Hardin) and the ex-boyfriend was angry that she left him for Hardin.

What's interesting is that the second wife went to Clermont to watch the UM segment get filmed. So while the crew had access to her and she was available, there was still no interview.
Knowing what we know now from articles posted online, I'm beyond struck by how lovingly Hardin's fist wife spoke of him and the fact that she got a little choked up...considering he left her (and his children) for an 18 year old girl he was having an affair with. Definitely worth a mention in the WTF moments thread.
amandab1234 06-17-2019, 01:47 PM Another interview I’d wanna see, Wolfka. His family was so preoccupied with finding Lady they didn’t care too much about him. Would’ve been nice to hear his side of the story

TripleG 07-02-2019, 08:10 AM Knowing how the case ended up being solved, I would have loved to have Beverly Noe interviewed in the Wendy Camp disappearance case.
That was one of those cases where I was like "What's unsolved about this? I know they frigging did it!" and a ton of people felt that way I'm sure. Beverly turning down an interview for the segment only heightened her guilt, but had she'd participated, I would have loved to have seen how she would try to dance around all the accusations and inconsistencies in her story.
