Now that every episode of this show has been placed on a DVD, how about a chat where we ask any questions about the show its self that we may have and hopefully get answers to them if the answers are out there anywhere?

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. One that I have concerns Balki and his family. Why was his traveling to America done by boat when his family members got here by plane? Sadly one of them in season three went forward before they could get a flight to Chicago after getting as far as New York. I am guessing that Mypos eventually got an airport?

Now that I have seen the whole show, I finished up the final DVD last night, my big question would be why in the world did Balki continue to put up with Larry's constant cockamamie schemes? I understand Balki's forgiving nature, but what Larry tried to do when being on the baby quiz game show in my opinion should've been the final straw because Balki's child would've been who took the fall if Larry had gotten away with what his intention was. To me, Balki never once should've lifted a finger where the delivery of Larry and Jennifer's child was concerned after what Larry tried to do on that game show. I was so happy to finally see Balki tell off the complete and total sorry excuse for a human being! Larry is a word that I can not say and it would've taken all that I have in me not to smack the crack out of him if I had been in Balki's shoes!!!

God bless you and the beautiful precious gentleman who gave us Balki always!!!

Another question that I have concerns the season four episode named The King And I. After Balki is hypnotized, him and Larry go to an auditing appointment concerning Balki's taxes I guess it was. Because Balki was not yet an American citizen at the time, why was such a thing even an issue for him in the first place or maybe him not being a citizen yet was the reason for the meeting. I guess things were different back in the late 80s compared to how they are now?

God bless you always!!!

Another question that I have is why was it okay for Mr. Gorpley to be in the film that Larry wanted to make about Balki's life in the season five episode named Home Movies when no one else "popped" in Larry's opinion?

I believe that Larry explained it in the episode where Balki gets married season 7 Get Me To The Dump On Time, to get to Mypos you take a plane to Athens Greece, two hours on a small plane, 6 hours on a fishing boat, 11 mile hike. I don't think they ever had an airport discussed on Mypos.

I believe the reason why Balki put up with cousin Larry's schemes is because They aren't just best friends but family. Family is very important to Balki judging on how close he always seemed to talk about his family with fond memories such as when he spoke of uncle stavros at the dinner table with momma in the episode where Balki couldn't sleep in fear that he was letting his family back home down not being able to help with the sheep sheering. If it's one thing Balki taught me is that family is everything. Even if he couldn' tfly his own family down from Mypos for his wedding; Why I'll never know. Family sticks together, helps one another when they're down like when cousin Bart needed money to get back to Mypos and find his Myposian side again and Balki offered him the money he needed for plane fair. I think he thought of cousin Larry more as a brother who deep down was a good person just needed to be pulled back from his greed highs.

Balki might have had some help from Cousin Larry and might have itemized a few things he couldn't claim as deductions for his taxes?

The song being sung by Balki at the begining of the season 5 episode Digging Up the News is:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHP9BVo7X1w

Gorpley had to be in the film because Balki wanted to show his mother his life in america and all his wonderful friends. It didn't get into Larry's mind about hiring a crew to play those roles until later in the episode. It takes time for Larry to go off the deep end. surprised he hasn't done so before he met Balki,Just realized he becomes more like Twincacetti through out the series. remember when he wouldn't lie to twiny's wife about where he is some nights but in the epsiodes where he's lying to Jennifer about not going out with her over basketball tickets is alright. that episode was with the honeymooners bit.

Has anyone besides me noticed that the lady cashier that we see in the grocery store episode in season three named Better Shop Around is the same girl who plays the lady that Balki goes out with in season seven after Mary Anne moves out? When Mary Anne goes with the guy who looks just like Balki, Balki is with a girl who looks just like Mary Anne. That girl is given to us by the same actress who throws the confetti at Balki when the shopping spree prize is given to him. :) :) :)

Another thing that I would love to know is how the scenes with Bart were filmed. When we saw both his face and Balki's face in the party scene for example when Balki tells everyone about him and Bart teaming up to get the new beach product out there, how was that done? I wonder about this because I saw it done once on another show and the way it was done there was so amazing. The person was sitting in a chair and standing behind the person was that same person, but dressed up as another character. At one point they got on their knees and so their face was then in the same camera shot with their self sitting in the chair. We see the person's face in both spots. How is that kind of filming done? Actress Michelle Stafford of The Young And The Restless was the person. She is the character on there named Phyllis. Years ago when I was an avid watcher of the show, she played another character named Shelia. She stood behind herself as Shelia while she sat in a chair as Phyllis. When Michelle got on her knees behind that chair, her face is in the camera shot while we see her sitting there in that chair as Phyllis. We see her face as that character in the camera shot too. This is a line that comes from Balki in the season eight episode named Baby Quiz.

"All right, Cousin Larry Appleton, it’s good to have you back. Your wife is lovely and you and I were chatting backstage earlier and you mentioned to me that one of your greatest fears is that your unborn child might inherit your short, stubby legs and your hammer toes. Well don't forget that Cousin Larry's father got him a car with the Appleton System. It may not have been his Mustang which was blue in the show but red in the intro theme song. So I'm sure people didn't plan that far ahead on the show for inconsistencies.

A hammer toe is a deformity that causes your toe to bend or curl downward instead of pointing forward. This deformity can affect any toe on your foot. It most often affects the second or third toe.

At that point Cousin Larry would have laid across the ground for her to walk all over him if it were to give her an ounce of pleasure. He would have gladly done anything for her at her request. But since Cousin Larry and I share a few eccentricities and neurotic behavior or rather he's probably the cause of some of it watching this show as a kid so much, I can answer you this, he would have either given it to her and planned ahead to get a cab to go to work, gotten out of the apartment earlier to allow for some buffer room time to be late taking public transportation, or driven her himself.

================

Hard to say. I pride myself on having a keen eye especially after watching so many crime detective shows/movies. First thing I tried to do was look if her hands matched on the piano to when she's on screen. A few seconds after she plays the piano she and the boys are back the apartment wearing the same ring on her finger. So for all we know, the wardrobe people knew to give the stand in the same dress and ring. But there was something that bothered me which was the smokiness of the lounge they were in. When showing Elaine's hands, we see it very clear. Cut back to the people around and it's far too smokey.I checked the actresses imdb bio and nothing about her having musical tallents:

Sue Ball was born on March 2, 1967 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. She is an actress and director, known for Moving Targets (1999), So Much Fun and My Mother's Early Lovers (1998).

The way Hollywood does these shows is you have the actor play one role with a look-a-like playing the opposite role for the audience then when they leave, you have the look-a-like role reshot with the main actor on the other side. In Editing they put in the video of a green screen added to the shot footage and you have a way to see both twins in one frame. If you'll notice the same was done when Bronson had to play momma. Either his voice is louder or Momma's voice is louder. You'll also notice a little flickering to the one who isn't really there around the corners/edges.

"If that doesn't work..." being the operative part of what you say here. If a private heart to heart did take place only to not be enough, to me, Bronson should not have even one regret where the matter is concerned. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Surreal_Life

The Surreal Life was a reality show that recorded a group of celebrities living under the same roof.

In the season that Bronson was on the show I remember him coming across as a total jerkwad! There was a scene where he groped Janice Dickinson when she clearly wanted no part of him. At one point he called one of his female cast mates the B word to the camera.

I didn't watch the whole season, but from what I did watch he didn't seem like a nice guy at all.

Holly

P.S. Calling someone the B word is another thing that Bronson isn't a stranger to. That was his name for actress Bette Midler who did a film with him years ago named The First Wives Club. If Bronson is going to place such a sticker on anyone, I can't see him just doing it for the heck of it. There has to be a legitimate reason. Maybe those who are spoken so poorly of are exactly how Bronson describes them. Its always a possibility and who would know better compared to a former co-star? To me, if a better caption is what they want out of anyone, my advice to them would be to paint a better picture and then a better caption is what they will then be given. :) :) :)

P.S. Another question that I have concerns the episode when Larry and Balki were on the roof of Mr. Twinkacetti's house. If there had been any kind of accident concerning what they were up there doing, who's plate would it all have been dumped on where the legal area of the matter would've been concerned? Even though the mess would've been on Mr. Twinkacetti's property, because Larry and Balki did not have his permission to even be there in the first place, anything that took place in my opinion should've fallen on Larry because being there at all was his idea.

During my 30 minutes on the treadmill today, I watched the season six Catered Affair episode. To me, what ends up happening was most definitely Larry's fault, but in my opinion, one thing that would've helped in one way was if the two parties that Balki was aware of had not taken place at the same time. If one had been like an hour or two before the other, the silverware and plates from the first party could've been used for the party that Larry booked. Another thing that could've been a good difference maker is if disposable silverware and plates had been used instead of the real stuff. I highly doubt that each party had the same number of people which is another thing that I think should've been considered when Balki was trying to gather up the plates and silverware from the Texas party any way and at the end of the day how important are the plates and silverware in the first place? To me, as long as they are clean and in one piece, who cares if they are real or disposable?

God bless you always!!!

P.S. To me, anything that had to be bought for the Calorie Counters people also should've come from Larry's billfold since that is the party that he booked.

Watching this show has only made me wonder when flight attendants are able to go to bed considering the kind of schedule that they go by when working such a job. When Larry and Balki are not able to make it to Madison in time during the first Christmas episode due to the snow blizzard, I wonder if Mary-Anne and Jennifer's plans were also delayed due to the same reason. The guys could've spent the big day with them. :) :) :)

God bless you always!!!

It was on this day 35 years ago that Perfect Strangers first debuted on ABC. To me, there is no better show.

God bless you and the cast always!!!

To me, what made the season five episode named Everybody In The Pool so great was the fact that even when Balki decided to go the other way and root for who he believed would come out on the losing end, he was right again about each and every team. :D :D :D

God bless you always!!!

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but during the season seven episode named Going Once, Going Twice, who ends up getting the money that is thrown down for everything that was sold during the auction that Larry and Balki go to considering the fact that the stuff belonged to a deceased man who did not have any relatives?

God bless you always!!!

It's an estate sail. In the event there are is no last will and testament where beneficiaries or next of kin aren't selected to receive the deceased's belongings, the state sells it off and everyone's taxes in the district are slightly lowered.

^^^ Thank you.

Another question that I have is this. When Larry wanted to sell the plant to Danforth Pharmaceuticals in the season six episode named Little Apartment Of Horrors, Balki pretty much said that he didn't have the right to do such a thing when the plant came from Mrs. Bartokomous. Well when Larry then points out that he is the one that she sent the plant to, he is like, "The plant belongs to Larry Appleton and you opened a package that was addressed to me which is a direct violation of United States Postal Service regulations!" My question is would such a thing still matter if his name was spelled wrong on the box that she put the plant in? Do keep in mind that when the package is delivered, the delivery guy does not pronounce Larry's name the correct way and so that can only mean that his name may have been spelled wrong on the package. Therefore, could his name being wrong on the package erase any rights that he may have had where that plant was concerned?

God bless you always!!!

Another question that I have is how was Balki able to make the Chronicle building elevator go faster at the beginning of the season four episode named Pros And Cons? I've never seen anyone else be able to do such a thing both on TV and in real life.

God bless you always!!!

Go here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63e981TiRVI) for a clip and a poetry piece that I pray actor Bronson Pinchot (Balki) someday soon sees. :) :) :)

To me, Bronson couldn't have looked better during the show this past Monday night. Yeah, some of his weight has come back to him, but to me, it only agrees with him. If anything, too much had been lost last year. I love him so much and so I only want his life to be enjoyed since it is the only life that has his name on it.......or has his name been placed on mine as well? If yes, I have no complaints. :) :) :)

God bless you and him always!!!
