Awesome love song/ballad country music style by Orville Davis. Nice melody, heartfelt lyrics. Orville Davis sounds a little like Gordon Lightfoot when he sings.

I was just thinking, if Gordon Lightfoot had recorded this song he might have had a hit with it, but since almost no one knows who Orville Davis is, the song is obscure.
In the 1970's, Orville Davis was bass player for the hard rock bands Hydra and Starz. Then in later years he dabbled in country music and released two albums/CD's, Howl At The Moon and Barn Burner.

Thanks opus for the feedback, give it a few more listens and maybe you'll like it better.
I find no fault with the song and rate it a 10 out of 10. :)

Just listening to this song again and still amazed at how good it is, perfect melody and heartfelt lyrics, it deserved to be a chart topper for many weeks.
Every time I think of you, I get a smile on my face
Even though you're far away, no one can take your place
Every night I'm alone, and I reach out into space
I open my eyes, and realize, that I'm still here all alone
I want you, here in my arms
Want to hold you, feel your warmth and your charms
I love you, with all my heart
No matter what I try, we're still far apart
If I could just reach out to you, hold your hand and see your face
Once again, I could feel, that love is real
And believe you'd feel it too
Two years ago I was very interested in an attractive looking woman who lives in my area and I was hoping to develop a friendship/relationship with her. I wanted her to hear this song and wanted to dedicate it to her but didn't get the chance because she never really responded to me in the way I hoped she would and courting her turned out to be a waste of time. :(
