The Season 14 premiere of the NBC reality talent competition easily won the night with 9.74 million viewers, but it was still down 34% from the Season 13 premiere's 12 million viewers. Songland, meanwhile, debuted to 5.85 million total viewers.

Haven't people just had enough of the genre and the formatting of these types of shows?

I cannot figure out why America's Got Talent continues to exist and continue to be a summer hit on NBC every year because it seems that America's Got Talent has gone downhill and even worser every season. For one thing I noticed that most of the talent that America's Got Talent has on it's show is mostly singers and dancers and for the same type of show you can watch The Voice or American Idol if you want to see singers and also America's Got Talent also has a lot of magicians doing magic shows and I cannot see why they consider magic a talent when you can go watch the exact same thing at a child's birthday party. To me America's Got Talent should have a variety of talent and not focus on singers magicians and dancers like why not have something original like a opera singing parrot or a dog that is dressed like Elton John that can play piano or even pets that can do gymnastics or even a wrestling team showing off their wrestling talents would be better. Another thing that America's Got Talent has is for a show that's supposed to be called America's Got Talent half of the talent is not American and come from different countries like India and Japan and the title of the show should be named The World's Got Talent rather than America's Got Talent and not only that the contestants who audition seem to have a story that seems to be an excuse to audition and win like "I recently had cancer and being able to perform on stage is a lifelong dream for me" or "our mother has been very sick and we need help to pay for her care" and when you watch America's Got Talent and see contestants like this it can get annoying at times. Why they got Terry Crews to be the new host of America's Got Talent is beyond me and I don't know why Terry Crews became the new host when they have other celebrities like Bob Saget could've done a better job than Terry does. They should've also kept Heidi Klum and Mel B as judges than having Julianne Hough and Gabrielle Union because I don't know why they were chosen to replace Heidi Klum and Mel B. Also I don't know why Howie Mandel is still on America's Got Talent when he should also be replaced because Howie Mandel is gonna have to do double duty by hosting Deal Or No Deal when the new season starts June 12th and I have disliked Howie Mandel ever since he started as a judge on America's Got Talent and Howie just is annoying and unappealing on the show and someone like Lance Bass of NSYNC could replace Howie Mandel as judge. But from what I can see is just like CBS is doing with Survivor and The Amazing Race NBC is planning a block of singing reality shows by having America's Got Talent and the new show Songland on Tuesday nights which Songland got a lot of promotion during America's Got Talent. So I predict that America's Got Talent will get canceled due to being weak this year and NBC will air American Ninja Warrior in it's place because America's Got Talent has gone downhill

Another thing I noticed on America's Got Talent that I cannot figure out why they did this when NBC designed America's Got Talent is why did they give the judges buzzers that are really really really really LOUD like a fire alarm going off? Because I cannot understand what NBC was thinking when they did this. Because if I were to redesign the judges table on America's Got Talent I would design the buzzers to make a sound effect like Doctor Who's Sonic Screwdriver rather than a loud buzz because a sound effect so loud like that can make a person deaf. The other thing that America's Got Talent has that I don't know why they have a habit of is that during the results shows they always have a singer like Ariana Grande or Tim McGraw perform a mini concert on the show and take up most of the show performing their songs and what it seems like to me is that NBC likes to pay the singers a lot of money to perform concerts on America's Got Talent? If America's Got Talent could improve these changes maybe it will gain a better audience to the show

Disability rights advocates call the viral reaction to Kodi Lee's America's Got Talent performance "inspiration porn" (https://www.huffpost.com/entry/kodi-lee-americas-got-talent-ableism_n_5cf0096fe4b0e346ce7aa94f)

The Center for Disability Rights says last week's Twitter and media reaction to Lee, who is blind and autistic, is a "perfect example" of how many media outlets use the unfortunate stereotype of disability being a “tragedy” to create “an inspiring story of overcoming.” The nonprofit says "inspiration porn" is when “people with disabilities are portrayed as ‘inspirational’ for doing the same things as everyone else.” The original YouTube video featuring Lee was originally titled, “Kodi Lee Defeats Autism and Blindness With Music," implying that his disabilities are burdens that need to be overcome. "Kodi Lee’s disabilities are as much a part of his identity as one’s heritage or culture," says the Center for Disability Rights. "While we agree that Kodi Lee is incredibly talented with his voice and piano skills, we want to be clear that one can be both talented and disabled. By trying to inspire others by showing how Kodi Lee undergoes mundane tasks such as sitting down at the piano, we are only further marginalizing people with disabilities.”

I used to like this show, but now I can honestly say it is one of the worst shows on television. And why do they call it America's Got Talent, when 90% of the fake contestants are not from America. The last 5 years, before this season, none of the judges were even from America either. The show is so racist and so obviously worked. Embarrassing.
