About 2 weeks ago, I was looking on eBay for some more 16mm prints to buy, and I came across a print of "My Three Sons," the first print I've seen in a while. When I looked at the pictures, I noticed the this was a S11 or S12 episode because one picture showed a few frames with Chip & Polly.

I'm happy to say that I ordered this film a while back, and it should arrive at my door by Tuesday. I hope this is an uncut print, and if it's a S12 episode, I hope the original intro is intact. The film stock is dated 1970, and no Viacom logo is present at the end, according to the seller, which leads me to believe that this is probably an original, or a syndication print made by CBS before Viacom was founded in 1971. I should know by Tuesday. Looking forward to seeing it!

1970 with Polly would probably be the first half of season 11. Once their elopement story arc was over, Chip and Polly had very few appearances in the second half of the season.

This could be a great find, because at the moment there aren't any season 11 unedited episodes out there, that I know of.

I’ll look around and see what episode it is. Should be here tomorrow, this is one film I cannot wait to get in. If it’s unedited, then this is fantastic!

The film print came in today, and according to the leader, it's S11E11 "The Bride Went Home". I think we've got a COMPLETE print! According to the markings on the reel, it rounds off to 25 minutes. This appears to be a network print. No Viacom logo was present, so this appears to not be a syndication print. Fred MacMurray greets viewers at the beginning of the episode, and it's one I've never seen before. During the opening, the announcer says "brought to you by..." before the intro gets spliced. I saw no splices during my inspection of the film, except at commercial breaks. The print is dated 1970 and is on Eastman stock, faded. I'm getting ready to transfer this film and I will have the open/close up on my YouTube page soon.

I've seen those sponsored openings before. I have a season 10 episode from Columbia House that has that, complete with CBS color logo.

I guess they made 16mm copies to send to stations which didn't air the network version at the time the network showed it. I assume this is a color print.

Now if only there were network films of season 12 floating around!

I might put it on Google Drive, that way it can be downloaded easier. The total run time for the entire film, leader and all, is 25:39. Sound complete to you guys? It sure does to me!

This is a funny episode also, it's when Chip gets sick from Polly's cooking. "I poisoned him" says poor low esteem Polly.

This sounds complete to me. The only way it could be more complete is if it included the commercials. Does it have the opening Ketchup commercial? I think it's Del Monte or maybe Heinz, well, it's red.

Yeah, at another point, Polly is on the phone, telling Steve and Barbara she thinks she poisoned Chip (while he's moaning in the background). Then she says hold on, and says something like, No, the cat food can isn't opened yet. I definitely didn't feed him cat food. He makes a face in the background and asks her later, when did we get a cat?

This 16mm My Three Sons episode sounds like an interesting find.

I do own one 16mm film, I have the Bowery Boys movie "Crashing Las Vegas" on 16mm, it's on two reels. I had it transferred on to DVD and it looks and sounds great. Crashing Las Vegas was Leo Gorcey's last Bowery Boys movie, he left the series after this film, then Stanley Clements took over Leo's role for seven more movies at which time the series ended.

During the 1980's when I lived in Chicago, I recorded a bunch of East Side Kids/Bowery Boys from WGN TV, those airings were from 16mm prints. I still have these recordings, they are cool to have because I like the looks of 16mm, it has a nostalgic quality to it. :cool: :)

I think the Lassie color episodes, including the movie Lassie's Great Adventure, appear to have been shot with 16mm film. It may be easier to use it for location shooting in the woods, I don't know, but it definitely has a different look.
