It was a Top 10 hit and ran for 3 seasons (86 episodes). When TV Land presented the show 20+ years ago, they only aired around 10!

Surely if The Bill Cosby Show (from that same period) or Here's Lucy can get the DVD treatment, why not this show?

You make a very good point! Why indeed. It would be nice to re-visit this show.

Third that! I remember watching the show in the 60s. It would be fun to see it again.

Based on the comments in this discussion (http://www.tellytalk.net/threads/why-isnt-julia-on-dvd.7896/), perhaps Julia's main issue is that it's a show that hasn't aged very well, and thus, doesn't have a whole lot of replay value. It was very squeaky clean, innocent, and emptily preachy. It was one of those shows from the 1960s and early '70s (similar to Family Affair) that was never really particularly funny, but had a likeable lead and characters.

At this point, a general retail release is probably unlikely but perhaps the series could be released on DVD as a manufacture on demand item for those interested to have it.

Who's going to watch it?

It had black people acting white.

Today, white people act black.
