Today I learned that Norman Fell's last TV appearance was playing Mr. Roper in a tag scene on Ellen, in the episode "Roommates," which aired about a year before he died. Also, apparently in 1991 Suzanne guest-hosted a talk show called Into the Night with Rick Dees, and one of the guests was Norman Fell. Would love to see that mini-reunion but can't find video anywhere.

I agree. Ellen's massive ego probably nixed his line. She was probably afraid of being upstaged like most paranoid egomaniac are.
