"The Conners" Episode Count Revealed, will have “Around Full” Season 2 Order
by Nellie Andreeva
May 14, 2019
"The Conners'" upcoming second season will be the largest for the franchise since it returned to the network two years ago with "Roseanne".
Talks with the cast are still underway but “we will end up with around a full season,” ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke said of The Conners‘ upcoming second season during the Disney upfront press event Tuesday morning.
A full season in broadcast is 22 episodes. I hear that the show is eying a 19-episode second season contingent on being able to work out star Laurie Metcalf’s schedule.

The excuses they come up with...working around her schedule smh. While it may be true, 3 episodes shy of 22 episodes is not a good sign. I predict that this is the last season for it, probably won't have a third season. I don't really care about this show anyway, I just wanted to say that my prediction is that it won't get a third season.

Except the plan was always to have a shorter season. The fact it’s having 19 eps is a great sign, if ratings are as great as last season it will have no issue getting a third season.

19 eps out of 22 is not a good sign at all. If they could do 19, they could certainly do 22. It's a matter of what they both wanted, for sure, but I just don't think it will get a third season. Maybe it will, we'll see. But maybe it won't. And, besides, it's ABC and they are a failure in ratings so "#1 comedy" isn't exactly a compliment. Modern Family for example managed to stay 10 seasons on ABC because of all the syndication it was getting via local stations and cable networks. The Conners isn't getting that and will never get that. But, again, let's wait and see. I don't see it going on for a third season anyway.

Considering I was expecting another 9-13 episodes season, 19 episodes is a pleasant surprise. I wonder if a longer season for The Conners is the reason Sara Gilbert left The Talk.

Does anyone know when the premiere date for the upcoming season is? I looked everywhere online and can't find it.

I'm glad we got more episodes too. I was under the impression that the season was gonna be like 11 episodes this time around. Much like you it was a nice surprise to hear that we get 19 instead.
I'm still waiting for info on a Conners Season 1 DVD/Blu-Ray release to come out.

19 episodes is just fine. A lot of shows do you less than that. Breaking Bad and The Sopranos were two of the most successful shows of all-time. Neither ever made close to 19 episodes per season. It has nothing to do with the Network having confidence in the show. It's just a sign of the times.

Only difference is that those shows were a full hour w/ no commercials.
