I love the Standard Deviation episode as well as the ones named The Game, The Dog, and Recovering Pessimist.

P.S. The Turkey Or Fish episode was also good because it was the first time that we see Ray defend Debra where his mother was concerned. I love when he said to Marie something along the lines of, "This is supposed to be Debra's meal and look how you are acting!"

I have a hard time remembering the season 1 episodes, because the actors were just getting their footing, and the acting and writing really hit their stride in the later seasons. But I do enjoy Standard Deviation and Turkey or Fish.
