How did you feel about the Myra character. Did you enjoy the humor she brought to the show?
In most ways she was just as cliched and over the top kind of character as Urkel was. With the only difference is they made her really pretty instead of your stereotypical 'geek' look.
I enjoyed her character and I think bringing Myra in added a little bit of charm to the show that was probably needed at the time since Urkel had been around for multiple seasons by then. Having a pretty girl obsess over a character like Urkel worked well because you could easily tell it was in no way was meant to be taken seriously. Where as even though Urkel obsessing over Laura was created just for laughs as well it had the potential to still be a sensitive topic to some because nerdy guys in real life did have to deal with having unrequited feelings of affection towards girls like Laura Winslow.

Ok just got finished watching all of the Myra episodes in the series (I previously had only watched up to about season 6) so now I can say what I feel about the complete arc they had for the character.
To be honest I actually kind of like it. I admit season 9 Myra was a big change from previous seasons. They tried to psychoanalyze the character a bit in season 9 where as in seasons 4-8 she was just another over the top character that was there to play into the type of humor they had developed for the show. But at the same time I appreciated it because I wouldn't have wanted to see them try to end the story making it seem like a girl who had stalked Steve and was jealously obsessed with him throughout her entire time on the show was the right person for him. I'm glad they added a little dose of realism into her season 9 story and showed what those kinds of relationships often end up being like.
I guess we could say that Steve acted in a way like that to towards Laura but I think they always avoided having Steve cross that line to where he went from being an infatuated person with a big crush to looking like a creep. They had Myra cross that line into the creep zone time and time again.
So though yes season 9 was a bit of a change but I am glad they didn't end the show making it look like Steve and Myra were right for eachother.

I absolutely loved Myra. Michelle Thomas was a breath of fresh air and she is truly missed. Such a beautiful, talented lady.

Yep, Myra was by far my favorite character on the show and I think the show would have been cancelled two or three seasons earlier if she was never introduced. Michelle did a great job with the character. She had great chemistry with Jaleel with all the physical comedy scenes they did.
I'm glad the show got cancelled when it did. I wouldn't have wanted to see Myra be played by someone else and I think a FM show without that Steve/Laura/Myra ongoing love triangle story that we had had for five seasons by that point would have been pretty dull.

To me, she was ripped off big time. Why did she have to pay because Laura couldn't see sooner how wonderful Steve was?
God bless you always!!!

Like I said in another thread, they decided to ruin Myra's character to make Laura look better. But they didn't fool me for even one minute, so I don't buy that she was wrong for Steve.
