A question for all loyal price is right game enthusiests. Suppose you or someone you know was going on the show. List general strategies that you could think of for bidding, playing any games, spinning the wheel or anything else you could think of that would help you win. This could be a cool developing list that might help some people. (Even if you know of ways to increase your chances of "Coming on Down." That could help to! (Please list a pricing game, if you are giving strategies for a specific game) We'll see what everyone comes up with! Here are some things I thought of:

On Being Picked to Come on Down

1. The producers seem to favor
a. Contestants with clothing that stands out
b. Contesents that are "overly excited"
c. "Little" old ladies on vacation
d. Young blonde's with phoney smiles
e. Good looking hunky college guys
f. Woman named "Kimberly"
g. Military People

2. On Bidding/Pricing in general:

a. Bid in "round even digits" ending in 5 or 0
b. Often bidding in the middle range of bidding is helpful. (i.e, if it's a dishwasher, and your competitors bids are $1000, $350, and $1200, I would bid $750.) A lot of times contestents overbid and underbid a lot and you can get a jump on them.
c. Bidding $1.00 more than the highest bid, may piss of others in contests row, but the strategy works.
d. Most prizes have prices that end in 9, 5, or, 0. This is true about 60% of the time IMO

For Pricing Games:

Now & Then:
1. If the product has been featured on the show before, chances are it's a NOW product
2. If the price does not have the 9, 5, or, O on the end, chances are it's a THEN product
3. If you haven't seen the product on the show, it's probably a THEN product

Lucky 7:
1. Guess 5 often, you'll get more margin for error that way
2. The second number is rarly anything less than 4, so if you guess in the upper range on that second number (5-7) is probably the best choice, and take 5 as your third number you would have a good shot at winning

Three Strikes:
(With the new rules of only 1 strike in the bag, that goes back in when it is drawn you have a greater chance of winning)
1. Best advice is to remember where numbers DON'T go and as you draw them, do a process of elimination
2. If you are playing for a sports car and a 4 or 5 is in the price, chances are that is the first number

It's in The Bag

1. The cheapest price is almost always first, and the product is almost always candy or gum
2. The highest prices are going to go for products like pain reliever and vitamins
3. You can win a lot of money even if you aren't a great shopper, I would personally stop at the $4000 level unless I was REALLY sure of my selections...Don't get greedy because unless you screw up on the first product, the LEAST you'll get is $1000 unless your wrong about the next one

Clock Game

1. Easy to choke under pressure IMO, listen to Bob say "Higher" or "Lower" and wait till he says it before bidding.

2. Try bidding in increments of $100, starting with say $700. That can help you zero in faster on the price and give you more time to win the second prize

3. Both prizes are usually under $1000 each in this game, so you can keep that in mind when bidding

Ten Chances

WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE PLAY THIS GAME SO STUPIDLY?

1. The first prize is easy. You only have to use 2 digits of the three given to you, using each number once (Sarcastic Hint: Ummmm O is not gonna be the first digit in the price if the first, second or third prize OK?) Everyone should take no more than 2 tries to get the first prize

2. Second prize is 3 digits among 4. A 1, 2, or,3 is NOT gonna be the first digit, yet so many STUPID people think that TPIR still gives away $100-200 prizes. People should get this in 2 tries max

3. OK, following my examples above, that gives you SIX chances to win the car. You have to use all five mumbers and they don't repeat. Use the end number strategy of 0, 5, or, 9 as the last digit in the price and your chances of winning are increased.

Money Game

1. If a low number "El-Cheapo" is on the baord, those are the last two digits about 55% of the time.
2. The cars offered in this game are somewhat less expensive so 14-17 are good first number choices if they are on the board

3. If "El-Cheapo" doesn't work, try the last two numbers, where the last digit is a 5, 9, or O

Those are my suggestions I am sure there are many many others. Another good bit of advice is to focuss and think about the game you are playing, not what the audience wants you to do!
