Ugh, what else is new. Father Knows Best gets another Father's Day marathon because it has father in its name. Last year's Silver Spoons marathon had been a nice change.

I’m happy with Antenna TV’s Choice!! The one thing I don’t understand is this 5AM start time. I think for a lot of series the best episodes are the early episodes and when they start at 5AM you miss almost the first entire season. It would be great if they can start these stunts atleast at 12AM. (In addition it wont interfer with Johnny Carson’s time slot).

I love the show so I really don't mind if they do a FKB marathon every Father's Day. And besides, i'm never up early enough to catch it in the morning. I really wish they'd flip the FTB and Dennis the Menace hours so I could see it. I'm so sick of that brat Dennis.

I like Dennis!! I can't stand Betty and Bud!! Esp. Betty ! Who the heck does she think she is? Some kind of a queen? What a little B*tch she is!:( And Bud is a very unlikable (kind of a moron) character too ! If it wasn't for those two the show would be cute and likable ! But those two ruin it for me!! Esp. Betty. I HATE Betty !!! :p

Aw, I like Bud and Betty. Though I can see where Betty can be called a B*tch. Especially the episode where she happily made dates with 2 guys and they found out about it and both ditched her lol. She was also spoiled too. I'd have loved to see the mother just slap her and tell her to grow up. :lol:

Bud being kind of a moron was part of his charm I think, and he always learned his lessons by the end of the show.

As far as Dennis..he's an evil little Damien child as far as i'm concerned. :angryfire

The only good part of Dennis the Menace is Joseph Kearns as Mr. Wilson. Dennis lives up to his name and Jay North wasn't a great actor either, the boys on Leave it to Beaver were a lot better.

Father Knows Best I enjoy it! Although at times it got to dramatic for my taste.

When Betty didn't win or wasn't the best, you'd think the world was coming to an end. That got old.

Her performance changed during the series. In the earlier episodes she was a totally ditzy teen.

I liked her in TAGS although she didn't last long. I'd take her for Andy vs. Helen Crump any day. I also liked her in Star Trek and Odd Couple.

Agreed on all counts. Every character on FKB was written very realistically. Normally I'm not a fan of realism on sitcoms but this was more of a comedy-drama and it worked extremely well.

I don't hate DTM but it's far from one of my favorites. Gale Gordon was the best part IMO.

I agree, Beaver was a better show with better child actors, particularly in the early years when Mathers was at his best.

I normally don't go for a lot of these child actor sob stories, but I'm convinced Jay North really had a bad childhood, being ruled over and abused by that cruel aunt. The four seasons of DTM must have been hell for him.

So I can cut him some slack, and keeping that in mind, his acting was as good as could be expected under his circumstances.

FKB is an ok show. I haven't seen it in a while. I didn't mind Bud or Betty. I couldn't stand Kathy. I thought she cried a lot and was very annoying. I think there was an episode where Jim had a big meeting or something at the house but he couldn't go to the meeting because he promised Kathy that he would sleep outside with Kathy or something like that.

You'd probably like the later season FKBs better than the earlier ones, where Kathy was an unbridled terror. She was much more tolerable when she grew up a little.

I've been working on the season 1 DVDs (trying to improve on what Shout put out by making them more complete using other sources, like old TV Land showings) and she is just awful. In episode 7 she keeps washing all kinds of stuff in a new washer, when told repeatedly not to. Hey, guys, how about sending her to her room?

I strongly agree. I personally never cared for Father Knows Best anyway. I just found it boring and hard to get into, so I still wouldn’t be watching, even if the credits weren’t crunched. And with the exception of the Silver Spoons marathon last Fathers Day, I think Antenna has done Father Knows Best marathon pretty much every other Fathers Day since they’ve been in existence.

Dennis the Menace on the other hand is a funny and enjoyable show. I’d take it any day over Father Knows Best. Not on Antenna where the credits are crunched, but thankfully Shout Factory TV has the entire show free to stream so that’s a great place for my Dennis fix.
