Unlike "The Brady Bunch", the Foster/Lambert kids didn’t call their step-parents Mom and/or Dad.

Some people just never do that especially if they don't have the opportunity to get to know their step family first before a wedding takes place. Before the kids learns that they were step siblings they were already at each other throats too and so maybe their parents keeping them in the dark about the secret marriage and relationship at all period just added more to the mountain. I could be wrong but I don't think the kids knew that their parents were even dating anyone until they already had rings on their hands. The more that I think about it, the more that I don't blame them for not calling their step parents mom and dad when the beginning of their new lives were as wrong as they were. Yeah, Carol and Frank eventually made it up to their step kids through the years, but still, its hard to call another person mom or dad especially if there is already a bad track record and sadly there was. Both Frank and Carol and their kids were left by the children's other parents. One thing that I have learned in my life is how hard it is to trust people. That man from the Joey and Rory musical duo was married to the mother of his two girls before Joey was ever in his life. The witch left him and the girls in her dust and when he met and married Joey, I am under the impression that the girls never did call Joey "mom" and maybe its a good thing that they didn't because she is gone too.

God bless you and Rory and his three daughters always!!!

P.S. To me, Joey didn't fight the cancer hard enough when Rory made it sound like other treatments were out there to try. If Joey couldn't think of her two step daughters, she could've at least thought about the little girl that she herself went on to have with Rory.

I think I would have found it weirder if they had called their step-parent "Mum" or "Dad". Even if the other biological parents were awful and never present in their lives, they were still their parents and nobody else were.

Frank was originally divorced, but Carol’s husband had died.

^^^ Carol was divorced too. I don't remember which episode it is exactly, but in one, Frank eventually learns about Carol having her own personal savings account because of her marital history being the way that it is. In that same episode, Carol learns that Frank still has a black book in his possession for the same reason.

God bless you always!!!

Only in name.
