Bummer about WKRP. Hopefully it comes back soon.
I've only seen a handful of Twilight Zone '85 episodes. It was pretty interesting.
Is this the new schedule for the Summer of Me?
AMackII 05-01-2019, 07:54 PM Is this the new schedule for the Summer of Me?
I’m guessing it is
I’m guessing it is
If so, I'm surprised that it’s getting announced this early.
icecream 05-01-2019, 09:33 PM If WKRP is leaving the Me TV lineup, hopefully that is a good sign it will be expiring from there and Antenna TV finally got back the WKRP rights.
Svenfan1234 05-01-2019, 09:35 PM If WKRP is leaving the Me TV lineup, hopefully that is a good sign it will be expiring from there and Antenna TV finally got back the WKRP rights.
I guess we'll see, but WKRP is now owned by Disney so who knows. They're probably just resting it.
BigManMike 05-01-2019, 11:42 PM Glad to see they’re showing more Green Acres and in a good spot as well. Yet they still have that stupid Hogan’s Heroes hogging up that whole same hour when they could have eliminated one of them to keep WKRP on. I will never understand why that show needs two episodes when it only ran 6 seasons. It’s a full boring show that just can’t ever seem to leave.
stevea 05-02-2019, 06:57 AM I'm not a Westerns fan, but I've wondered why they hadn't made the change to air the 90 minute Wagon Trains. I think those are in color.
stevea 05-02-2019, 07:17 AM There's some interesting info. about the 1980s Twilight Zone over on Wikipedia. The episodes were shot on 35mm film, but rather than edit on film, the episodes were put on videotape, and edited there. For that reason, the episodes couldn't be remastered from a new 35mm print created from the original negatives, as is commonly done for DVD issues. A writer/producer for the series says they do look good on the DVDs, and that the DVD issues were a fortunate thing, since videotapes deteriorate over time (my note: I thought film deteriorated over time, as well).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Twilight_Zone_(1985_TV_series)#Home_media
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think these episodes have ever been shown in syndication (other than the episodes that were shown in original syndication).
Merry24 05-02-2019, 11:59 AM Hmm. Interesting The Three Stooges Are On Me TV now! I think they should of had Sci-Fi shows from 6pm-12AM. Starting at 12AM The Three Stooges Than like some strange shows (The Brady Bunch Variety Hour & The Monkee’s & etc).
I would love to see Leave It To Beaver added to Sunday’s this Fall. Speaking of Beaver I wish they would add Beaver & Dick Van Dyke to WeekNights Primetime Hopefully in the Fall they will do something like this..
Weeknights
8pm Andy Griffith
8:30pm Gomer Pyle
9pm Green Acres
9:30pm Leave It To Beaver
10pm Andy Griffith
10:30pm Dick Van Dyke
stevea 05-02-2019, 01:06 PM They're probably testing Dick Van Dyke to see how well it does--if it does well, it may end up back in primetime. I'd like to see them get the rights to the Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited from 2004.
I'd like to see your schedule just to see Hogan go away.
The Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited is on YouTube if you're interested.
Mr. Television 05-02-2019, 03:25 PM Three Stooges. yea.
PhoenixAcres 05-02-2019, 03:38 PM Happy about Green Acres, Three Stooges, and Dick Van Dyke.
But it's been going on 10 years now that Gunsmoke and MASH have been in those same spots. To me it would make sense to try different shows there but I guess they have other ideas.

They really do need to get rid of both shows that have been airing there for a long time.
mandyrenee 05-02-2019, 09:35 PM I have heard that MeTV has long term contacts concerning both Hogan's Heroes and M*A*S*H. That's probably at least one of the reasons why they continue to show those same two tv series over and over again.
I understand how a lot of people feel about M*A*S*H. That is a show that I can only handle in small doses. I have Direct TV and have noticed that both WGN and Sundance TV like doing marathons of M*A*S*H which is overkill IMO.
TheLogoMan94 05-03-2019, 01:21 AM Glad to see “My Three Sosn” and “The Beverly Hillbillies” are still on. I still have time to try to get the seasons of both series not available in DVD yet. However, it’s gotten to the point that I just don’t even look forward to a schedule change. There needs to be more changes. Would love to see “The Phil Silvers Show” and “Car 54” air again.
treky 05-03-2019, 02:24 AM If WKRP is leaving the Me TV lineup, hopefully that is a good sign it will be expiring from there and Antenna TV finally got back the WKRP rights.
I HOPE not-the way they crunch the credits!!!
treky 05-03-2019, 02:30 AM disappointed that they're keeping MASH on the schedule-AND IN THAT SAME TIME SLOT!!!
TheLogoMan94 05-03-2019, 03:52 PM Has H&I released their 3Q schedule yet? I’m curious to see what changes, if any, there are.

Yes they have. It started on 4/29.
From what I can tell they have dropped "Hunter" and replaced it with "Police Story".
Plus the "Green Hornet" has returned to their schedule and they have added "The Dead Zone" and "Mutant X".
I am unable to copy and paste the link to their schedule for some reason.
I'm gonna be bummed out when WKRP In Cincinnati leaves the schedule. Though shows like M*A*S*H and Hogan's Heroes should be the ones leaving. I honestly wouldn't miss Andy Griffith Show either if it could please get replaced.

I think The District is replacing Hunter. Police Story is on Saturday/Sunday late night.

Thanks for correcting that.
I was unable to find their previous schedule and kind of had to guess at the changes. Plus I don't watch H&I all that much.

I actually like Andy Griffith, unlike MASH and Hogan, but I agree it has been in the same spot too long and could use a rest or move to a different spot.
treky 05-05-2019, 12:37 AM I'm glad H & I is keeping all the live-action Star Treks, I wish they'd bring back the animated one though.
TV Guy 05-05-2019, 09:26 AM I’m wondering if there are more changes coming for the summer. When you go to the link, the file is called Nat Sch 2Q19, not 3Q19.
M*A*S*H stays where it is because it’s always been a very popular show in syndication. My guess is that it’s one of MeTV’s highest-rated shows, if not the highest rated. Look at the commercial spots; there are actually normal ads, as opposed to the “1-800” type ads that fill commercial time on diginets.
As for Gunsmoke: MeTV doubled the number of episodes they show over the last few years (they previously only showed the last half of the series, in color) so they should get credit for that.
The 80s Twilight Zone has run in syndication before. A few years after season 3 ran in syndication, one of the local stations where I lived ran all three seasons, with the first two seasons sliced into half hour segments. And, for consistency, CBS had Robin Ward, the narrator of the Canadian-produced season 3 episodes, re-record the narration that Charles Aidman did for the first two seasons.

I've tried to watch it multiple times and just couldn't get into it. I did end up liking it's spin-off Gomer Pyle USMC though.
treky 05-06-2019, 12:50 AM A local station in my area used to rerun the 80s TWILIGHT ZONE back in the 90s.
biffbronson 05-06-2019, 05:44 AM A few of the series mentioned in this thread, like Car 54, Hunter, and The Phil Silvers Show (Sgt. Bilko) do pop up on Decades occasionally. In fact I think they've done weekend binges for all of those.
It looks like there won't be a host again this year, but MeTV does have their schedule posted.

I wonder why they aren't having a host again this year.
stevea 05-20-2019, 12:37 PM Next Sunday night's Twilight Zones, according to TV Guide, are 1960s TZs, not the 1985 one.

Green Acres is an excellent addition to the Summer Of Me schedule! Today, they made an even better call: the Three Stooges!!!
The Three Stooges On Me-TV (https://www.metv.com/stories/metv-presents-the-three-stooges-on-saturday-evenings-beginning-june-1)

They couldn't have picked a better time for The Stooges. For me, there's nothing else on at that time.

I’ve said that all along about M*A*S*H and Hogan’s Heroes. While I don’t like either show they’re obviously bringing in revenue in advertising dollars and that’s why they stay where they are. It’s a business and it’s purpose is to make money. I do find myself watching less television these days and more DVD’s though.
Here is the blog post from Pavan:
http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2019/05/2019-summer-of-metv-schedule-disney.html
Summertime means yard work. But why toil outside? Stay in and watch two city folk work the soil. As of yesterday (May 27), Green Acres has now moved to a new time, five days a week - weeknights at 9:30PM replacing WKRP in Cincinnati. That is not the only fresh crop arriving in The Summer of Me. Two rarely aired pieces of television history are coming to MeTV this coming weekend -- the 1985 iteration of The Twilight Zone (Saturdays at 12:30am and Sundays 12am, replacing the original Twilight Zone) and the 90-minutes episodes of Wagon Train every weekday at 3:30pm (essentially replacing an airing of The Rifleman). Then, on Saturdays, MeTV presents The Three Stooges at 6PM | 5C (replacing The Wild, Wild West), with two thematically tied shorts presented in full, unedited and without commercial interruption.
More details on Stooges: On Saturday, June 1, legendary comedy troupe and masters of mirth The Three Stooges will join MeTV's lineup of memorable entertainment television. Over 13 weeks, these specially selected and themed broadcasts will present full-length, unedited shorts without commercial interruption, packaged into an hour-long presentation that highlights the many "best of" moments from the beloved comedians. Airing Saturdays at 6PM | 5C, weekly themes include "Crème de la Curly," "Just Say Moe," "Pie...I Oughta!" and "Shemp Cocktail," featuring the classic combo of the Stooge trio -- laidback Larry, hotheaded Moe, man-child Curly, along with dimwitted Shemp.
Svenfan1234 05-28-2019, 12:24 PM snowpeck, do you have any information on what's airing on Svengoolie in June? Thanks in advance. :)

stevea 05-28-2019, 12:46 PM Hmm...unedited Stooges. I'm happy!
Wonder if MeTV could do more themed, unedited episodes. Like My Three Sons...Mike's Wedding/Ernie's Adoption 3 episode arc; Rob's Wedding, several episodes; Rob and Katie's Triplets, several episodes; Steve's Wedding, several episodes; Chip's Wedding, several episodes; Fergus's Wedding, 4 episode arc.

I'm happy that there won't be any commercials during the episodes!
stevea 05-28-2019, 04:01 PM If you read it carefully, it says the episodes won't be interrupted by commercials.
My guess is there will be two unedited episodes in the hour, with ads at the beginning, between episodes, and at the end. Normally 3 episodes fit into an hour.
We'll see!

It's looking like MeTV is ditching The Love Boat starting on the 9th of next month. It's no longer showing up on the schedule of guide on my cable box. It does however show it starting to air on Pop on the 9th.
MikeLutton 05-29-2019, 11:50 PM wonder what is replacing the love boat

And I checked the XFINITY guide as well, it's still listing The Love Boat.

I was very surprised the first time I had learned of a report similar to this one and had wished they were not true since I had never liked profanity and had always found it to had been unnecessary (I would feel very differently about him if they were true).

I personally have never liked censorship.
People need to stop being so paranoid about bad language on television.

Has anybody watched The Three Stooges yet? I haven't gotten around to watching it yet, but I'm curious to know how it is.
stevea 06-05-2019, 10:31 AM I forgot to watch the Stooges.
However I did see Twilight Zone Sunday night/Monday morning. The first episode was pretty good but the second one wigged me out.
Sunday night will be all I see, since our affiliate replays their news at that time on weeknights.
In our area, the Stooges airs from 6:00-7:00 PM and Twilight Zone from 12:30-1:00 AM.
10:00 PM is when our affiliate shows the news here.

That's interesting. Collector's Call with Lisa Whelchel doesn't even air here on Sundays because of the local news.
I don't even get Love Boat anymore on Sundays. It's been replaced with a hour of Andy Griffith Show by my MeTV affiliate.
We still have The Love Boat on our MeTV affiliates.
