Cord cutter. Does MeTV still have the rights? They never show it anymore.

While Cheers reruns have minimal cable and broadcast coverage currently, it's on Hulu Plus and CBS All Access. All 11 seasons can be streamed commercial free with the right plan.

I wonder if this show can be rebooted but with new ensemble of characters?

Isn't the new show Abby's pretty much a modern take on it? It follows a similar story of friends hanging out at a bar. Though it's in her backyard instead of a actual bar.

I've never seen it, but will check it out. When I looked on wikipedia and saw Natalie Morales, I thought why is a former Today show co-anchor leading a sitcom? That would be an interesting career move.

But then I saw its another person with the same name.

This show though is named/closely coupled with a lead character. With Cheers, I'd say it was not that heavily tied to Sam Malone. I remember and enjoyed seeing a lot of Frasier & Lilith scenes in the post-Diane era, and when Diane was there, Ted Danson and Shelley Long were grouped together in the intro credits.

Give it a try and see if you like it. If you don't no foul and if you do that's cool too.
