View Full Version : Season 8 = Best Season
Kadafi 06-13-2002, 03:41 PM I hated seasons 6 and 7 but Season 8 was better than ever. Once they fired that stupid Bernie Kukoff and put Janet Leahy, everything became better. The only bad thing about season 8 is that you do not see some cast members for episodes. I mean its like there is always SOMEONE missing.
west01 06-13-2002, 07:25 PM yep.. I don't think all of them were in there together in a single episode in season 8 b/c of denise being fired(i think)... even in the last episode, denise and martin aren't there.
°Bubbly Blonde° 06-14-2002, 01:38 PM Yup, it's my fav season. I liked the later seasons, esp. with Rudy more grown up for some reason.
vienna waits 06-14-2002, 02:42 PM My little Olivia is moving to Singapore tonight. :crying:
west01 06-14-2002, 05:32 PM Olivia is gone for 5 seasons starting tomorrow night! Woohoo! But hey, you still have her on TBS for 2 weeks or so and WGN is getting near to season 6...
TVJunkie101 06-15-2002, 02:58 PM I liked Olivia the first season she was on, but the next one I wasn't too thrilled about her, LOL. I was thrilled about the addition of Pam, but she was okay.
Michele35 06-15-2002, 11:26 PM I really liked season 8 too,,but I miss not seeing Denise.
Also too much Pam and Olivia,,and not enuf Rudy...otherwise it is very enjoyable and funny.
cubsfan1060 06-19-2002, 09:21 PM I am not too big on the last few seasons of the Cosby Show. The only Olivia episode I liked was Nightmare on Stigwood Avenue. My favorite season is season 1. Rudy and the kids were very very cute! The ending theme was excellent. And my favorite episode is where Cliff tries to beat Tailwind Turner. I remember every time I see it, the station cranks up the ending theme music really loud. Right now, as I type this, I am watching #6. Which is where Denise tries to choose Princeton as a collage.
tjmilliner1011 07-15-2002, 10:25 PM Yep! The 8th season was the my favorite season. Most of all, I liked the theme song they used at the beginning of the 1st-part final episode titled: "And So We Commence", it had a lotta flavor in it.
GoldenFamilyTies 08-12-2002, 02:51 AM I like the 8th Season, but it would have been so much better with Denise and Martin there, and with more Vanessa. (And Rudy for that matter-- less Pam)
FactsofLifeRulz 08-13-2002, 03:17 AM The last season was one of my favorites too, it would of been better with Denise and Martin.
1 Question: Why was Lisa Bonet fired?
Superbatboy 08-13-2002, 03:23 AM Yeah, the 8th season was some much better than some of the middle seasons. Like I really don't like seasons 4, 6, and 7 for some reason.

1 Question: Why was Lisa Bonet fired?
Why?????
danithang 08-14-2002, 04:44 PM Lisa was fired because she married Lenny Kravitz and had a baby, Cosby didn't want her marrying him because he was a rock star. Also she didn't show up to the set on time and sometimes didn't show up at all. Cosby was tired of giving her chances since she wasn't appreciating them.
I don't think season 8 was the best season, but it was alright. I liked the episode where Cliff found out that Vanessa and Dabnis broke up and he was all hurt about it because he liked Dabnis so much. Season 8 definitely needed more Vanessa and Rudy and less of Pam and Olivia. Even though I didn't have a problem with Pam and Olivia, I would prefer the seasons before they came in.
cubsfan1060 08-14-2002, 07:43 PM I hate to diss Bill's decision to fire Lisa Bonet because, when I heard that statement,(I am old enough to remember hearing that out of NBC) my parents said that this guy was nuts. What did Lenny ever do to the Cosby Show or Cosby personally? I am pretty speechless to look back on it. The real thing is, was Bill Cosby one of NBC's executives? How could he fire Lisa Bonet for marrying a rock star? What, is Bill going to make Denise marry a jazz or blues star? I do not think there were many jazz or blues stars that were her age back in early 90s.
danithang 08-15-2002, 12:45 AM Cubsfan1060, I agree with you. I didn't like the fact that Bill was telling her how she should live her life, he wasn't even her father. It was her choice to marry Lenny not his. I don't agree with the fact that she hardly showed up to the set, but I guess that was her way of rebelling and proving to Bill that he did not run her life. It seemed like Bill was too controlling because he fired Cockroach because he wouldn't cut his hair. Don't get me wrong, I still love Bill Cosby and I know he was just looking out for the best interest of his tv children, but I think he could have took a different approach.
ladybug1980 01-27-2014, 08:43 PM Season 8 is airing these days. I don't know if all episodes will be there, but I'm trying it out.
I'm running out of DVR space though. So I deleted some Season 4, 6, and 7 episodes that I know for a fact that I didn't like. I may end up deleting some Season 8 episodes too after trying them out, but one thing at a time.
ladybug1980 02-17-2014, 05:58 PM Well after viewing Season 8 I can say that after seeing the episodes, it is a mixed bag but to be honest, I think that it may be the best season since Season 3.
I thought Season 4 and Season 7 STUNK, for the most part. I never wanted to say such a thing about a show that I love, but I have to. There were probably 2 or 3 episodes at the MOST on S4 and S7 that I thought were worth watching. Season 5 and 6 are good in pieces, but not as a whole IMHO.
If Lisa Bonet had been in Season 8, that would have been even better, but oh well.
