I got a phone call that scared the **** out of me saying "You're Going To Jail And The Police Has A Warrant, You'll Need To Be In Court"!

It was a Texas call, but SSA is in the DC Area...why the **** do these scam *******s have to **** with me?

And before anyone says anything...I must say this...

Yep!! Me, a friend of mine and my Hubby's niece all got that same call! It's just a scam. It's annoying BS! :mad:Just ignore it and by all means DON'T give them any imformation!

After the call , I thought about it and they just said "You" . They never said my name , so the SSA could actually be after my Husband! :D That is what I mean, first of all SSA never contacts you by phone, and even if they did, they would call and ask for you by name, right?

If there was a warrant for your arrest you wouldn't get a phone call.

I know! Totally, and give you a chance to get away!!

I actually got two calls from the SSA scam ! First time was like Mr.Cleveland, said I owed lots of back taxes and they had a warrant to come and arrest me, the other one was that there was suspicious activity on my SS number and they are suspending it !! Both times I was not asked for by name I'd think something that important they would be sure they would at least ask to speak to the person in question ?

Exactly!

I don't answer the telephone from numbers I don't recognize, which helps keeps nuisance calls such as this at bay...

I love screwing with these scammers sometimes.

One time I got a call saying that I won a Mercedes-Benz and $1000 cash. I told them to keep the car and just send me the $1000. They then hung up.

Another time I got a call from "Microsoft" saying my computer had a virus. I asked them which device was it... my desktop, laptop, tablet... and they didn't know how to answer and hung up.

I’ve had the IRS call and say they were after me, but I never called them back and it stopped, so apparently if you don’t return the call the IRS moves on and leaves you alone. They’re sweet people.

Everyone should check out this guy on YouTube. He speaks to scammers in his "Grandma Edna" persona and rambles on about her cats, relatives, recipes, and other nonsense with them.

Unless you can do something by the following...

- Talk Everyone You Know about the scam call problem
- Plan to make a petition on getting your unwanted scam call situation solved
- Inform the Police that you dont permanently get arrested

I keep a referee's whistle by the phone for such calls. And I always answer the phone on speaker.

That reminds me of Mama in the episode “Obscene Call”.

I dont think blowing a whistle over a phone does any good....

We get these calls a lot. Either they say they are from the IRS or Microsoft. We have Caller ID so we don't answer but they leave a recorded message. So many crooks out there.

That's if you get a live person ! 9 out of 10 scam calls these days are a recording/ automated! That is how it's so obvious it's a scam!!

Hey, I remember that at one time one of them even called the Assistant Administrator of the IRS!

I've had these calls as well, and as far as I know, so has everybody in my family. Mostly we just blow it off as the BS that it is.

There have been videos of these people making those calls to cops, and police dispatchers calling them back and making fun of them.
