Variety has a rundown of which bubble shows are likely to be canceled in the coming weeks.
tlc38tlc38 04-25-2019, 05:39 PM I thought Murphy Brown was already canceled.

I think it pretty much is. I am 99.999% that crapfest won't be renewed. The others I honestly couldn't care less about.
treky 04-26-2019, 01:41 AM I thought Murphy Brown was already canceled.
I thought it was too. I hope CBS does cancel it, though. It's awful.

Not yet. Diane English, the show's creator (reboot and original run) says nothing is final yet. I loved OG Murphy, and liked the reboot.
cfr1970 04-26-2019, 03:41 PM Reading that Variety article reinforces why I only tune into classic and game show channels. Modern television is a wasteland of garbage. Most of the shows mentioned I never even heard of and the ones I do know of, I can't believe are still on the air.
Grey's Anatomy is STILL going?! Yikes. I tuned out of that 10 years ago. I'm also surprised to see that CW "Dynasty" reboot is renewed. I saw the promo before it premiered and it was terrible. Made me long to go back to the 80's and tune into the real thing over that mess.

I agree 100%.

Diane English is a sack of crap who has no talent at all. The original Murphy Brown was good, but not as good as other 90s sitcoms and dated itself making it hard to sell in syndication or DVD because of the music rights. And now the reboot will never be sold in syndication and CBS' app will likely just phase it out after about a year. Let's face it, that piece of crap version of Murphy Brown isn't coming back. Personally, I'd love to return to more of the escapism shows. You can get current events on the news. There's no need to portray them on fictional TV shows.
favoriteshow 04-26-2019, 08:19 PM I'm also reluctant to invest in a new broadcast network show, until it gets good feedback or something else is compelling to watch it.
I like Fox's 911 but tend to be browsing my laptop the same time the show is on. First season had Connie Britton and Angela Bassett, but CB left after season 1, and the show has evolved with Angela Bassett's character as the primary lead. Show is interesting enough for the show to carry on.
Greenbeans 04-26-2019, 08:36 PM I'm hoping "The Rookie" gets renewed. Nathan Fillion doesn't come cheap but it has big international sales and does okay in a bad time-slot.
I hope Murphy Brown does indeed get cancelled. The reboot just did not look funny at all when seeing the commercials for it.

Made me long to go back to the 80's and tune into the real thing over that mess.Considering the network, I am not surprised. The CW is a joke of a network. Almost all of their shows get loser ratings (and even their former ace The Flash is down massively from its peak), yet this is the renew everything station. They don't have anything worth watching either, the major four broadcast networks I have watched three or more shows this past season. Zilch on the CW though.

I used to love the WB. The CW has always sucked.

The last time I watched the CW was 5 years ago when Jane the Virgin premiered. Initially, it looked interesting, but after a few episodes I just tuned out from boredom. At 49, I think i'm way past the age bracket for CW shows. They all seem so juvenile to me with nothing of any substance.
Merry24 04-29-2019, 01:19 AM I hope ABC renews The Kids Are Alright!
Schooled as of now I really have little interest in. The first episode was good when the episode turned out to be about NFL player Matt Ryan.Naturally I enjoy The Goldbergs cast members making an appearance and the 90’s music but other than that. Schooled really is missing that Family dynamic that ABC really offers including 90’s nostalgia. (I feel that Schooled should be similar to Just The 10 Of Us! Where it can be about School & Family life).
The Goldbergs & American Housewife I can go either way with its renewal. I love all the 80’s Nostalgia On The Goldbergs and 80’s music & Bev!
American Housewife The Comedy is good sometimes & I like the cast.
The Conners original Becky did an awesome job! I would love to see past people show up like Bonnie, Booker, Fred, Fisher, Bev, Leon, Molly Tillman, Ziggy, The Lobo Lounge, Dans Dad Ed, Crystal, Lonnie, Nancy, Arnie, Ann Marie, Chuck, Chip Becky’s First boyfriend, The Tillman’s etc. If they feel that Dan needs a female cast member they should go after Jami Gertz Or Vicki Lawrence who played on Roseanne one Of Dans old girlfriends.
Modern Family I hope it will be a great final Season! However since Season 5 it really hasn’t been going off real Modern Family topics all the time.In addition the Characters aren’t portraying who they were during the first 4 seasons.
Finally on CBS Glad Young Sheldon got renewed the Cast is fantastic! Although after its renewal period I don’t see this show lasting too much longer. Although time will tell.
JamesG 04-29-2019, 03:05 AM I tried watching "Whiskey Cavalier" for Scott Foley and Lauren Cohan, but I didn't get into it. Not enough action for my liking. I liked Foley on "The Unit", but it isn't a show like "Whiskey".
I'm hoping Cohan returns to "The Walking Dead" full-time if it gets canned.

Wasn't a character played by Katey Sagal introduced as a potential love interest for Dan?
The show has been pretty good or at least good enough for me to tune in. They have shown Crystal (Natalie West) but she is still very minor as a guest when she is on.
a. It'd be nice if the season was more than 11 or so episodes.
b. With Becky and Darlene grown up, the show already has 4 main adult characters with Dan and Jackie, and then Darlene's kids as well. Then DJ and his wife, David on occasion, are there too but less scenes to them.
Unfortunately, it kind of diminishes the likelihood for someone like Nancy (Sandra Bernhard) to have any meaningful presence. In the original show, first season, you had the parents, Jackie and there was room to have Crystal, for scenes for the adult characters. They have introduced new characters (Matthew Broderick's character, for example), as new love interests.
It wouldn't surprise me if Lethal Weapon got the ax. I'm sure that the realization that Clayne Crawford was for all intents and purposes "the show" (I mean, Martin Riggs is the Lethal Weapon) and Damon Wayans was supposed to be the "straight-man", more level-headed foil. With the Riggs character out of the picture, like I said, there's really little point to call it Lethal Weapon anymore.
Tubehead 04-30-2019, 12:17 PM shows i wish would get the ax
empire
star
glade that they are
jane the virgin
crazy ex girl friend
I really liked The Rookie. It has a good cast of characters, wish they'd renew it. Murphy Brown was okay, not as good as the 1990's version but I could still get into it.
favoriteshow 05-02-2019, 09:39 PM For the Murphy Brown reboot, the writers shouldn't have written that the cast is back together for a new morning cable news program. That idea is kind of late 1990s. And they make Murphy behind in times with using a smart phone and have a young Indian guy as the tech guy to help her. Kind of stereotypical. But even if they went more intelligent or high quality, it's hard to see how it'd fit with the other CBS comedies. Maybe it would have fit in better on CBS All Access with The Good Fight, which is liberal leaning.
Chocolate Moose 05-03-2019, 09:53 AM I haven't seen any of these new shows. If they get renewed, I might though. I don't like to commit unless I know there will be some character development.
