"I asked them to release the Mueller report three weeks ago so we would get a little space," showrunner David Mandel joked of Sunday's episode, which seemed to be inspired by the Mueller investigation. "Attorney General William Barr felt that it would make Veep more relevant if it came out this week and I couldn’t argue with him. He’s a huge fan of the show. He’s always been very helpful to us, so we want to thank him."
