Did any of youz catch that very brief and mysterious ad in the 1st 1/2 hour of the beautiful Colorized special last night? It seemed to be saying that all the many colorized episodes that have been done so far will be released on DVD "this fall". Oh, if this could only mean that ALL ILL will finally be released in color in a complete DVD set. But that's too much to hope for.

But did this slyly quick ad actually say that all episode or just some of the episodes done so far will be on DVD this "fall"? It went by so fast I couldn't pick up what it said exactly.

I caught it too. I am 99.999999% sure it is just the colorized episodes CBS has shown since 2013. There is no WAY that the team that colorized those episodes can colorize all 181 episodes with the correct colors in that span of time unless they hired let’s say literally a million people to do the work.

I do hope they include a neat bonus feature on this DVD.Perhaps a colorized version of the pilot episode?

OH Nuts!

I know you like the 50s shows colorized, so I’m happy for you when more roll out like this (even though I prefer these vintage shows in unaltered b & w)

Unfortunately it looks like they will only show the colorized episodes that CBS so far have aired. Not a surprise though.

Good release for a great price. It'll be nice to see the full episodes, rather than the hacked up ones they show on CBS. The late release date probably means they'll be doing a couple more or maybe one more around the holidays.

I am thinking that maybe as a bonus they will colorize the pilot episode. Of course, for curiosity’s sake, I wish that CBS would show a colorized version of Lucy & The Dummy just to see if they show the built-in trailer for Guys & Dolls even though I know it’s doubtful.

I'd like to see one of the Connecticut episodes in color. The one with the tulips would be a good one.

They might be likely to work on another episode that's considered a true classic -- maybe the chocolate factory job ep, or the pressing of the wine grapes on the European trip...?

Both of them have been colorized already.

I'm surprised that in 2019 the focus is releasing this on DVD. It would make sense if it was 15-20 years ago, but with everything geared towards streaming and on demand (and not to mention that DVD has been surpassed by Bluray) it's an interesting move

I'm overjoyed that things haven't gone down the rat-hole of downloads and streaming and are remaining with the best format to watch a movie or TV show, that's the great DVDs. They never die with your computer, they don't take an hour to begin watching while staring at an endless circle in the middle of the screen. Simply put, they're the perfect medium meant for real consumers who like to hold in their hands a belonging that isn't going anywhere except on your shelf.:)

And by the by, the release date of this truly great colorized Lucy set is 8/13/19, Be there or Be Square.

For those who have their DVDs now: recommended viewing--Special Feature titled Redhead Tales: Colorizing I Love Lucy. It's an almost 26 minute feature, and it's fascinating. On the 2nd DVD.

I keep checking stores like Target & Walmart but still no Color Lucy DVD set. Usually Target, at least, has the Lucy color discs in their stores when they're released. Maybe they're waiting for closer to Christmas to put them on the shelves. Of course there's always ordering on the internet, but was hoping to buy in person.
