COZI replaced the worthless START TV today. That's great news. Hopefully, they will add Decades at some point. We use to have it here but lost it last fall when all the CBS owned stations dumped it in favor of the waste of time Start TV. favoriteshow 04-21-2019, 01:09 PM Someone's gain is someone's loss. Not that I watched Start TV though, but it has some dramas that might be of interest to some people. However, most of these are forgettable like Family Law. And the picture quality at least as shown on a subchannel, is worse than one gets on a channel like ION or TNT. I kind of think Escape is better as a subchannel. A few of the Start TV's show overlap elsewhere: Overlap with CBS All Access -The Good Wife -Medium -Touched By An Angel Overlap with Hulu -Ghost Whisperer (I didn't check with Amazon Prime and Netflix and cable channels). But ones gets commercial free on Amazon or Netflix, and likely better picture quality. If CBS still owns 50% of Decades, I'd love to see Decades added to CBS All Access as part of the channels it offers. It'd give me incentive to keep the service longer than the two months that I keep it per year. As for YouTube TV, Sling, Philo and other streaming cable, Decades would be great, but also I wish one would add FETV. omg65 04-22-2019, 10:51 AM Error made on my initial post. I stated that COZI replaced START TV.However START TV is still on the Youtube TV lineup. The big issue with START besides it's weak lineup is that alot of it's shows are not available for streaming on Youtube TV. Because of this, it makes START even more useless. Coffeecup 04-22-2019, 07:01 PM I am little lost here. You say Cozi is replacing Start TV. I already get Cozi and Start tv. I've haven't watch much StartTv. Too many somewhat recent shows. I like the decades of 50-60-70 shows. I will check my lineup omg65 04-23-2019, 08:24 AM [QUOTE=Coffeecup;5530646]I am little lost here. You say Cozi is replacing Start TV. START TV is still on the Youtube TV lineup. favoriteshow 04-23-2019, 04:44 PM It seems like there was a price increase as well: https://www.cnbc.com/2019/04/10/youtube-tv-price-increases-to-50-a-month.html One would hope more than Cozi TV will be added, but I thought the $40 price point was low relative to DirecTV. YouTube has expensive sports channels, Disney and offers the cloud DVR included. Hopefully the price increase will justify some more networks. omg65 04-23-2019, 04:53 PM It seems like there was a price increase as well: https://www.cnbc.com/2019/04/10/youtube-tv-price-increases-to-50-a-month.html One would hope more than Cozi TV will be added, but I thought the $40 price point was low relative to DirecTV. They added about 8 new channels. The recording features on Youtube TV are outstanding. Unlimited recording hours in your library and saves each recording for 9 months. Actually I would have no problem paying 70 dollars a month for their service which unfortunately, I'm sure they will be there in a few years. favoriteshow 04-23-2019, 08:38 PM My cousin has YouTube TV. It's supposedly a really good value for those that like live sports as well. It has NBA TV in the base package. Along with Cozi, these were the eight Discovery-owned networks just added: Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Investigation Discovery, Animal Planet, Travel Channel and MotorTrend. Apparently, Philo is no longer offering the $16/month plan and just will offer its $20/month plan. Some people were adding Philo with YouTubeTV for the A&E, Discovery, Hallmark and Viacom channels, before YouTube added the Discovery networks. |
