Tess: Jogging is just walking fast enough to be uncomfortable.

Tess: What if you ran away from home, and nobody noticed?
Monica: What if you gave away your heart, and nobody cared?

Monica:
So now you're moonlighting as a computer technician, huh? [he grins] Andrew...

Andrew:
Yes?

Monica:
What are you doin' here?

Andrew:
It's, my shift. Ah! Look at this, this - mm! I love computers!

Monica:
Your shift?

Andrew:
Yeah... You know, this is the toughest assignment that an Angel of Death can get - sitting around here, waiting to get the word. It's just, it's too hard.

Monica:
But I thought you liked being an Angel of Death.

Andrew:
I - oh, I do. I - I do. Sometimes, you know, the getting there... Meditating the murder of a child... So we take shifts.

Tess: Any boy that studies that much is looking for answers that he cannot find in a book.
Monica: So quiet and well-behaved. But there's something else too. A sadness.
Tess: He's so caught up in what his father wants him to be that he hasn't had to time to find out who he really is.
Monica: His father is so proud of him.
Tess: Honey, there is nothing more dangerous than a man taking pride in the wrong thing.

Monica: Tess, Julia is gone.
Tess: Well, that's to be expected.
Monica: But she was just getting strong. Why would she run away?
Tess: Good question. Go find the answer, and get rid of these biscuits. Coffee in biscuits — ain't never heard of no coffee in no biscuits!

Andrew:
I'm - doing some fix-up work around here for the, uh, landlord.

Mrs. Taggert:
Huh! *That* must've took an act of God.

Andrew:
I couldn't say.

Monica: What happened last night was my fault and I'm sorry. I thought you were someone else.
Ruth Ann: Yeah. For a moment, so did I.
Monica: You can change all this running.
Ruth Ann: I guess. I just don't feel ready. Monica, it was nice meeting you but if you don't mind, I'd just soon you forget you ever saw me, all right?
Monica: You don't know what you're doing.
Ruth Ann: I'm doing the best I can.
Monica: If you change your mind and you need help, just ask for it. It will be there. Believe it.

Tess:
Thirty-two cents to send a piece of paper from here to there. Ben told me this would happen but I didn't believe him.

Monica:
Ben?

Tess:
My good old friend Ben Franklin. I helped him start the post office a couple centuries ago.

Monica:
You told me he was a nosy motormouth.

Tess:
Well, most of my best friends are motormouths if you get my meaning.
