View Full Version : Do you take a fish oil supplement? and
dakert 04-15-2019, 09:27 AM Do you find it helpful for reducing cholesterol?
Thank you, I started taking omega red and I have a doctors appointment at the end of the month and was curious to see if it has any effect.
Wawwie 04-15-2019, 12:58 PM I take Fish Oil to reduce cholesterol. Other good vitamins for reducing cholesterol are L-Arginine, Phytosterol and Policosanol. I take those three and I went from having very high cholesterol to moderate cholesterol. A change in diet and exercise is also necessary. I've become a part-time vegetarian which greatly helps. It's part time because for breakfast and lunch, I only eat vegetarian stuff, but for dinner I allow myself to become a carnivore again. I take a 30 minute walk every day. It helps a lot with my heart condition. I've also switched to half caffeine coffee and decaffeinated tea.
Steve_uk 04-15-2019, 03:50 PM I think shark oil may be beneficial, but all the other fish supplements are a waste of money. With reference to the above comment if you're a Blood Type O you should be eating meat.

My blood type is A positive. Do you know of any kind of special diet for that?
I take it for improved blood flow due to my heart condition and also for inflammation.

As your body is telling you you prefer vegetables, legumes and pulses to meat, though you can eat turkey, chicken and eggs for your protein. No pig products, cow's milk, tomatoes or potatoes. Also try to relax and take exercise, go to green spaces to unwind, avoid violent movies, sing out loud if you need to, avoid crowds. For more check out Peter D'Adamo.

I thank you for the info. I gave up on regular eggs because of the high cholesterol, so I only eat egg white omelettes. I don't think anyone should be eating pork as I'm almost sure that the human body was not designed to digest pork properly. So I switched to veggie sausages for breakfast instead. A long time ago, I loved pork sausage with regular eggs. Ham too. No more! Those nitrates are really bad for you. I never put cow's milk in my half-caff coffee anymore. I only use non dairy creamer. No cholesterol. I love chicken and turkey and I do still have red meat on occasion, but I only have meat at dinner, never breakfast or lunch. I could never be a full time vegetarian, just a part timer.
I do sometimes sing out loud. LOL. I have a pretty bad singing voice... worse than Lucille Ball! I rarely watch violent movies anymore. I suppose a person's tastes change with maturity.
Interesting stuff you've provided.
Are you on a special kind of diet to regulate cholesterol?

Unless you have a special problem with your heart I think the cholesterol issue is overrated. You have found the prescription which works for you and good luck.
