Saget joked that "I love talking about that" when Dan Patrick brought up his Full House and Fuller House co-star's criminal case. "I go to the go-to of 'no comment' at this point because I have to," said Saget, who doesn't want to discuss any aspect of Loughlin's case. Saget said he won't even bring it up in his standup act. "I don't know anything to be honest with you," he said, adding that "you love people that you know a long time and then life is just insane."

Bob Saget Says he Loves Lori Loughlin, but "It's a Strange Time"
by Ryan Parker
April 23, 2019

Bob Saget still has Lori Loughlin's back. The comic and actor was asked Tuesday about his friend and "Full House" co-star when he stopped by NBC's "Today".

Saget at first said he was "unqualified" to speak on the topic, but joked the two had communicated by carrier pigeon since the actress and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, were arrested and indicted on federal charges for allegedly being a part of the college admissions scandal.

"I will say that I love her, and I will say no comment," Saget said. "It's a personal thing, and it's a strange time. What do you say?"

I hope Lori is happy with what she has done where the rest of the cast may be concerned. I can't blame the members who have little to say.

God bless you and them always!!!

Bob Saget on Lori Loughlin's college admission scandal: "I have empathy for people that are in my life for 35 years" (https://etcanada.com/news/532640/bob-saget-addresses-lori-loughlins-college-admissions-scandal-i-dont-cut-people-out/)

“I love the people I love, and people go through life, and stuff happens,” says Saget of his former Full House co-star and Fuller House colleague. “For awhile, I was saying, ‘No comment,’ and now there’s just no point in talking about it because I’ve answered it. What I would say is, I love the people I love, and I have empathy for people that are in my life for 35 years. I don’t cut people out.”

Lori Loughlin is conducting 'grueling mock trials' with her lawyers (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-7731899/Lori-Loughlin-spending-days-end-grueling-mock-trials-lawyers-ahead-trial.html)

"In just seven weeks time, Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli will embark on their college admissions scandal trial.

Rather than preparing for the holiday season, the Full House star is getting ready to take the stand to defend her self. The 55-year-old's lawyers are reportedly staging mock trials with the actress to prepare her for intense cross examination, a source told Us Weekly (https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/lori-loughlin-is-participating-in-mock-trials-with-her-lawyer/).

This comes before the couple's wedding anniversary which won't be a big celebration: 'They're unified and working together to fight these charges, but they're not really in a celebration mood, as far as I can tell,' a friend told People (https://people.com/tv/lori-loughlin-mossimo-giannulli-low-key-anniversary/).

On Wednesday, the two marked their 22 years of marriage.

'Their anniversary is the last thing on their mind, as they’re trying to figure out their legal options and the case against them,' the source said. 'They’re unified and working together to fight these charges.'

It was added: 'It’s all business, all the time with them as they move through this. Anything they do will be low-key and just between the two of them.'

The couple were initially charged and arrested in March for allegedly paying $500,000 to get their two daughters into the University of Southern California as rowing recruits, though neither row.

'Her lawyer plays the prosecutor, grilling her,' the magazine reported, calling the sessions 'grueling.'

Lori is said to be 'adamant' about wanting to take the stand, which she has been made aware is a big risk.

'Lori has been meeting with her lawyers for days at a time,' the source said. 'It’s her full-time job and she is very involved with her defense. When not at her lawyer’s office, Lori is emailing and texting with the team.'

Along with her 56-year-old fashion designer husband, she has been charged with mail fraud, money laundering and bribery, which they were charged with in October.

All charges put them at risk for up to 60 years in prison.

They have pled not guilty to all charges, though the Fuller House alum reportedly considered taking a guilty plea after the latest charge was added, though her husband talked her out of it.

Lori and Mossimo are also said to be paying close attention to the jail sentences other people in the scandal have received.

Fellow actress Felicity Huffman was given two weeks in jail for paying $15,000 to have her daughter's SAT scores doctored.

Most recently the embattled couple is said to be feeling 'discouraged' and 'concerned' after learning that 56-year-old Toby MacFarlane was sentenced to six months in prison for his part in the scandal, a source explained to People.

The real estate executive pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud.

He had lied about his children's athletic ability to get them enrolled into the University of Southern California, a judge found. McFarlane was ordered to pay roughly $82,000 in back taxes and interest to the IRS.

MacFarlane paid $450,000 to secure his kids spot - falsely claiming his daughter was a soccer star and his son was a hopeful basketball player.

'There's a similarity to the cases,' a source close to Loughlin, stated.

'And they're smart enough to see that. So they're very concerned. If this guy pleaded guilty and was still given six months, what does that mean for them?

'If they're convicted, their sentences are going to be very severe. Also, they face more charges than Mr. McFarlane did. They're very discouraged.'

The couple is said to have paid $500,000 to secure spots at USC for their daughters - Olivia Jade Giannulli and Isabella Rose Giannulli.

The trial is set to start, in Boston, on January 17, 2020, though the couple is not mandated to attend.

They faced questions from the judge after deciding to share the same lawyers, which is typically considered a conflict of interest."
