"The million dollar idea" was one of my favorite episodes !:) "Aunt Martha's old fashioned salad dressing"!:D That will be a great one in color!;) I'm not that familiar with "Bonus bucks"? but I'm sure I have seen it many times and I will be like" Oh yeah, that one " ;)when I see it! I'm sure it will be a good color choice too! ;)

They usually do. I love these colorized eps. I know some purists hate them, but for me it's fun to see these shows I've seen tons of times in new ways.
Bonniegirl 04-17-2019, 10:24 PM OMG!! I'm so glad I read this thread again! ;)I was thinking this special was on Saturday night. I would have missed it!!:(

Thank you
TV Guy 04-20-2019, 09:46 AM I wonder why they chose Bonus Bucks - I don’t think it’s one of the better ones.
How about colorizing a couple of the Connecticut ones, like Lucy Raises Chickens, or Lucy Does the Tango?
TSMIV 04-20-2019, 10:32 AM The colorization was really bad on these two.
SitcomsHeydayfan 04-20-2019, 11:04 AM Are they going to keep doing colorized Lucy episodes like this? They should do this every 3 to 6 months or so.
OH Nuts! 04-20-2019, 11:54 AM Well happy they have color for those who want it. But, oddly, I prefer the b & w for vintage (50s) shows; b & w feels more authentic to me.
TV Guy 04-20-2019, 01:46 PM The colors are just too bright. Lucy’s hair is too red, the kitchen walls are too green, Ethel’s hair is yellow (!), etc.
I wish they’d pay this guy to do it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IbL-VUZmL30. He did this ILL scene (he also colorized a scene from the first season of the Lucy Show). His color choices seem much more natural.

But a large portion of the country simply tunes out black and white shows because they consider them for old fogies! Like most people under 40.
I prefer color because the rainbow of colors is more appealing to the eye.

They probably did that for the glam effect. They want Lucy to look as hot as possible. Even Ethel looks better in color.
On the flip side Fred looks fatter in color and Ricky more Cuban!
Hazel Anyday 04-20-2019, 08:56 PM I thought the colors were absolutely great, each and every item seen in the picture was a sharp clear separate color. And as for Lucy's hair not looking natural, did you ever see Lucy's hair in the real color Lucy Shows? An extremely bright Nehi Orange color, I suppose that's natural. In the ILL episode her hair was a more natural reddish red color not the Big Bad Orange color (a color name used by AMC for their Hornets and other cars from the early '70's). If you look at the cover pictures on the ILL DVD sets you'll see the same red color that was used so brilliantly in the TV episodes last night. The skin tones (the hardest to produce) were spot on too. You got to really stretch your neck way out or just be a plain old fuddy duddy who will never admit perfection even when it's right in front of you to find a single reason to complain about the marvels of wonderful modern day colorization. :D
My one and only wish (aside from immortality so I can see this wish come true) is to see the COMPLETE I Love Lucy & Honeymooners Classic 39 and Dennis the Menace and seasons 1 & 2 of Adv. of Superman ALL COLORIZED brightly and unashamedly. Oh what a wonderful and colorful world it would be.
steven1660 04-22-2019, 12:01 PM I think they did a great job, but I agree that the guy who post the YouTube videos would do an even better one. It literally looks exactly like it was filmed in color, they should really hire that guy I really don't know what they're thinking haha. And he would probably charge a lot less than some huge company. I wish I worked for CBS, I'd hire him ahha.

LOL - some of us are just more discerning. I do think the colorizations done by Pop Colorture (linked above) are close to perfection. I would love to see the whole series done in color, but not using the color palette they’re using for the CBS specials.
Someday, they’ll perfect this.

Bonus Bucks is one episode I never liked. When the episode comes on I always pass it by. For all they went through, poor Fred and Ethel has to suffer through the 4 some only got a dollar profit.
