A new hour-long documentary series called Murder Decoded will debut on Investigation Discovery tomorrow night, April 6, at 9:00 pm (EST). It is a TV show that will document cases that were solved through forensics. Evidently, the new show will be in the vein of The New Detectives and Forensic Files. Murder Decoded looks promising, and as a TV viewer who likes both TND and FF, I am willing to give the new series a chance.

I gave it a chance but the acting/production style doesn't work for me.

You're not alone. I've read similar comments elsewhere. The lukewarm response to Murder Decoded is understandable. Viewers might have hoped that the show would be a lot like Forensic Files, and if that's the case that hope was dashed.
Forensic Files has been out of production since 2011, but I believed it was a matter of time before another procedural documentary series came along to fill that void. Although I didn't expect Murder Decoded to be a Forensic Files copycat, it doesn't hold a candle to either FF or The New Detectives.
