Here’s a FOL or Friends quiz https://www.metv.com/quiz/did-these-things-happen-on-the-facts-of-life-or-friends I did “adequate” ;) Haha! Oh no Lorsie, you missed TWO?!? You bombed out on 1/5th of the quiz?? What happened?? You JUST watched the entire series of FOL!! Lorimar Television 04-02-2019, 10:51 PM I was a little less “adequate” on this one, but in my defense, I’m a bit younger than you guys. :D Lorimar Television 04-02-2019, 10:52 PM Haha! Oh no Lorsie, you missed TWO?!? You bombed out on 1/5th of the quiz?? What happened?? You JUST watched the entire series of FOL!! Hey! 80% is a B-! That’s pretty good. Let’s see your score hot shot ;) '80sSitcoms 04-02-2019, 10:54 PM I was a little less “adequate” on this one, but in my defense, I’m a bit younger than you guys. :D Hey! Let’s see your score hot shot ;) "Hot" off the presses, bub ;) - Lorimar Television 04-02-2019, 11:18 PM Impressive '80sSitcoms 04-03-2019, 12:55 AM Impressive No hard feelin's, Lorsie! We can still share the silver plated tin cup! :) But, much like Mr. Bradley in "Running", I have a confession to make---I "accidentally" scored perfect! You see, on the question of which show had the characters getting stranded on their way to a ski weekend, I couldn't decide! I thought of "A Winter's Tale" in FOL which I just saw last weekend, but I wasn't sure if that's what they meant. So I meant to vote for FOL, but I accidentally clicked "Friends", and it was right! And then the next question was the "Winter's Tale" question! So, Lorsie, in my own way..."my thumb jerked"! :o '80sSitcoms 04-03-2019, 12:56 AM And if you all haven't, you really should go to MeTV.com and watch the Lite Brite video featuring Lisa! It's fun, and so cool to learn about a special time in her childhood and a beloved memory! Lorimar Television 04-03-2019, 01:17 AM No hard feelin's, Lorsie! That was my thought too, and one I got wrong. RetroGuy2000 04-03-2019, 10:35 PM [Geri] went and knocked on series star Lisa Whelchel's door. Jewell said, "I knocked on Lisa’s dressing room door and I felt very insecure, and I said, ‘Lisa,’ I said, ‘Can you please please help me with this dance number? And go over the lines and the dance movements.’ And she did. She spent hours with me until I was comfortable with it. That’s how big of a heart she has.” Awww!!!! Lorimar Television 04-03-2019, 11:13 PM Awww!!!! How sweet '80sSitcoms 04-04-2019, 09:49 AM Awww!!!! How sweet Very sweet :) '80sSitcoms 04-04-2019, 09:51 AM But I don't like this: "For the second season of The Facts of Life, the series had begun focusing in on its star Lisa Whelchel and sought to surround her with characters who could truly round out how Blair Warner was perceived on TV." That's putting her way too high a pedestal, like Natalie and Tootie were "new afterthoughts." And there were 4 years' difference between Kim and Mindy? Holy cow...yet playing just 1 year's difference. [*Googles*] Well, actually just 3 years' difference. She was clearly the star of season 1, but a true co-star afterward. Lorimar Television 04-04-2019, 04:43 PM She was clearly the star of season 1, but a true co-star afterward. I mean she did have the most plots, but Charlotte was the star of the show. Blair, Tootie, and Sue Ann (in that order) were the most focused on. '80sSitcoms 04-04-2019, 04:45 PM I mean she did have the most plots, but Charlotte was the star of the show. Blair, Tootie, and Sue Ann (in that order) were the most focused on. Oh yeah, Mrs. Garrett, lol---I was just strictly speaking of the girls. Though plot-wise, it could be said the order of the girls was Blair, Sue Ann, then Tootie, then Cindy, then Natalie, then Molly, then poor Nancy. Lorimar Television 04-04-2019, 05:04 PM Oh yeah, Mrs. Garrett, lol---I was just strictly speaking of the girls. Though plot-wise, it could be said the order of the girls was Blair, Sue Ann, then Tootie, then Cindy, then Natalie, then Molly, then poor Nancy. :( If we count the whole series (DS and post season 1) Nancy would be ahead of Molly for sure. Possibly even Cindy. '80sSitcoms 04-04-2019, 05:06 PM :( If we count the whole series (DS and post season 1) Nancy would be ahead of Molly for sure. Possibly even Cindy. Yup, if you wanna do that, Nancy would definitely rise up! RetroGuy2000 04-04-2019, 11:03 PM Oh yeah, Mrs. Garrett, lol---I was just strictly speaking of the girls. Though plot-wise, it could be said the order of the girls was Blair, Sue Ann, then Tootie, then Cindy, then Natalie, then Molly, then poor Nancy. I think even Tumpy might have had more lines than Nancy that first season... Heck, in "Flash Flood", even Chestnut had more screen time than Nancy! Lorimar Television 04-04-2019, 11:31 PM I think even Tumpy might have had more lines than Nancy that first season... Heck, in "Flash Flood", even Chestnut had more screen time than Nancy! Hey! She had the whole umbrella gag! RetroGuy2000 04-04-2019, 11:35 PM Hey! She had the whole umbrella gag! Yes, and it is a great gag. But Chestnut still gets more screen time. Lorimar Television 04-04-2019, 11:37 PM Yes, and it is a great gag. But Chestnut still gets more screen time. But he's only in the barn and the scene with Nancy later RetroGuy2000 04-04-2019, 11:42 PM But he's only in the barn and the scene with Nancy later The barn scene is pretty long. '80sSitcoms 04-05-2019, 09:44 AM Ooo, opposing sides...this is getting good... popcorn: :so Somebody get a stopwatch, and let no man let his thumb jerk ;) MA 04-05-2019, 10:58 AM And here's a Molly Ringwald story! https://www.metv.com/stories/molly-ringwald-recently-explained-why-jo-replaced-her-character-on-the-facts-of-life '80sSitcoms 04-05-2019, 11:16 AM ^---ah, interesting. They took a couple of comments from her recent "Couch Surfing" interview from People and turned it into a MeTV article. MA 04-05-2019, 11:20 AM ^---ah, interesting. They took a couple of comments from her recent "Couch Surfing" interview from People and turned it into a MeTV article. So pretty much MeTV's version of the story then. |
